He used to use such phrases.  He talked of needing money to take care of his mom I think, and he kinda retired from the board - I think it was about 1.5 years ago right before GS6.

yeah,  he sold a lot of his gear & went on to other things. haven't seen Ernie in a while.

Ernie moved back to mendocino last I heard. I remember when he won the yakhopper event at Davenport!

I remember when he caught a 26# halibut offf the boardwalk in Santa Cruz on Old blue the scupper pro.  I musta heard that story 100 times.  I could even tell it for him!

There are loads of stripers buddy, but it will be sturgeon time before I can kayak fish again. I went out in wzard's boat on Tuesday and we got a dozen or so in a couple hours, couple real nice ones too...
