Mine means I enter the water when I don't want to. Only person to go fins up in an Outback not once, but three times!!! Doing better after almost 7 years with my "lead sled." Haven't fallen out in a long time but I only know it is a matter of time.

My kids starting calling me that after I completed my doctoral degree...my dad says that and $5 may buy me a cup of coffee :smt044...actually he is a proud dad....my brother (teaches at a community college), sister (K-8 principal) and I (K-5 principal) are all first generation college grads. My dad once said, "you are going if I have to drag your a** there". He did a little college. It was always when you go to college...not if... You can call me David...mom would be happy. :smt006

My first ever screen name was Aslan.  But that had nothing to do with fishing.  When I was a part of a motorcycle group on Yahoo, I called myself AlSecaII.  Which was Al, + Seca II, the motorcycle I rode.  So when thinking of a name for NCKA I thought it would be an easy to remember if I did the same thing.  So AlsHobieOutback it has been.  But now you can call me Al-AI(n), AlsX-Factor, or AlsHobie  :smt044  I'm not very creative lol!

I first started posting on fishing message boards in 2005.  I chose the moniker of “Clayman” because it was the name of the metal album that got me into metal music.  I used to be a rabid heavy metal fan...still am to a degree, but my musical tastes have diversified since then (and I cut my long hair  :smt009).  Anyway, I really dug the album and the cover art of the album (it had a picture of the Vetruvian Man made out of clay and looking badass), and I also liked the lyrics in the title song about the Man of Clay being invincible.

When I started posting on NCKA a few years ago, I adopted the same screen name I was using on other sites since there were some anglers I knew from the other sites who were also part of NCKA and I wanted to minimize any confusion.  It’s to the point now that I may as well keep the name for the foreseeable future, but I’m cool with that because I still enjoy the moniker and I still give that album a spin every now and then  :smt004.

I bought my first SOT kayak to continue my abalone diving obsession....never thought I would do so much hook and line off the yak, but now I love it.  When I first started lurking on the board AbKing had such awesome tales to tell and was so welcoming to newbies, I figured I'll never be the King, but I can be the Man.  I'm not very original and tend to copy what works.

While AbKing set the virtual hook to this addiction, it was Bloodbath, KayakJack, O2B, Ravensblack and some guy named RedYak who welcomed me to the madness on the water.  Oh yeah SCWAfish at BAM camp sealed the deal that this is family I want to be a part of.

It's actually been the Butt of laughter in the fire service for many years before it became a kool username ....

In the Fire Service,  They put the first letter of your first name, in front of your last name....

 Don Anglin....  D. ANGLIN   ....  Brutal...  :smt011

" Please Chief, can't we do something?"...  " No way kid, we could use

Was a nickname given to me by my best friends girlfriend as a teenager. He got all jealous about it and dumped her, so naturally I had to keep it just to piss him off. Somehow he is still my best friend.
I can only imagine why your friends chick would calk you chad ROCK but I would have dumped her too!!
