I remembered when I went over to pickup the wetsuit and the weight belt from him. Man he can talked some stories. Love you man.

Just some background on that pic.

We were staying at the pebble beach house that belonged to mooch's friend from aquan. After a mediocre day at Stillwater on Saturday we pushed southward to a spot that nobody, to our knowledge, had kayak fished before.  We brought a couple yaks down a the ledge and some points they had to be lowered with a rope.  Mooch gave me the captain Morgan pose as he descended down the trail.

Some of us dove, some fished, we didnt do as well as we'd hoped. By the look of the terrain underwater we should have killed.....but the spot had been hammerred by a commercial live rockfish boat the entire week so we only did alright.

Halfway through the day he decided to exit the water and rest behind a rock without telling anybody.  We searched hi and low for him......frantically.  The he casually walked out from behind the rock. We all wanted to punch him.

i got him back.  I had gotten a bad bloody nose and had to stop diving, but not before I snapped a pic of the bloody mess.

When I posted the report, I jokingly wrote that mooch shot me in the face, expecting nobody to take it serious.

I think it was at elk, soon after, we were bs'ing the day before the tourney and mooch was dragging people over to verify that he didn't actually shoot me :)

Good times.

To this day, nobody has ever tried to get a kayak in the water right there!

Lots of good memories were made on those weekends at the mansion.

I'll never forget that day when Mooch decided to leave and not tell anyone...it wasn't a good feeling to not be able to find your buddy.  I've been down there a few times since then and everytime I stop to think of the good times we had that day...those are memories that will last a lifetime.

I was doing a little NCKA historical reading and came upon some quoted posts by the author: Hana Pa'a. I quickly saw they were Joel's. Further searching led me back to July of 2005 when the Hana Pa'a handle was changed to the nickname Mooch. Great story, fun to read the bsck and forths. It's great to be able to find and read these, thanks.
