Here's the flyer
*no snag fishing*
*no bow fishing*

Looks like it'll be soaking bait only.
What if you had a gigantor treble on a, say, kastmaster and "happened" to hook one in front of the gill plate? They want you to throw it back? It wouldn't count?

There is a lake in the South San Jose area that is considering being closed, paved over, and built on for the same reason.  Too many birds crapping in there and too much decaying plant matter make it unsafe for contact.  Gonna have to head there and try one more time to catch a 40lb carp, which I know are in there!  If I was to fish Pinto for money, i'd need to net about a 100lbs a trip to make the gas cost up.  That's a whole lot of smelly fish to take care of too!  :smt044

Someone should teach the guys "camping" over by MBK how to catch carp, where the closest liquor store is and hand them some tackle to get started.  That lake will be clear in no time!  :smt044

Which one?

What you left out above the no snag fishing is that it states only legal methods of take.  Isn't bow fishing a legal form of take?

Wonder if we could arrange fishing/camping for a weekend there... fish $ donated to charity or Waived for camp/fish weekend so we can help them and play all night? Anyone willing to make some calls?
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

On page 2, beerhunter posted a pic of the,  I'm assuming, official flyer. It states legal methods but excludes bow and snagging. Which both happen to be the best ways imo.

Oh it's open to boats & kayaks. I called today. Its a $5 launch fee and $5 inspection fee. They are paying .25 per pound but not whole fish weight, just the head...at least thats what she implied. And they still prohibit alcohol.
There's gonna be hella carp guts strewn all over the park LOL I can see it now.
I gotta be honest--this place isn't really NCKA event material. I can say without a doubt, it's the shittiest lake I ever been to; much less fished. And I'm talking abou the scenic & location value here, when I refer to t as shitty. The bass fishing can be ok, but the water's still gross. Hahaha and that's comin from a guy who kayaks the Salinas & Pajaro Rivers!

Al, I thought you were talkin about Parkway. Whats up with that place? Looks rundown & closed.

It is indeed closed.  I know it closed in October, just not sure if it was 2011 or 2012.

It doesn't make sense to me. Bow fishing and snagging be legal but not allowed. Especially since those are the best methods. That combined with a $10 launch and inspection. AND only head weight goes towards totals? Something smells fishy.

Didn't see anything on the KSBW 8 news report about it only being the head weight BUT they did say they only have $600 to pay out for this.

I don't believe that intentional snagging is a legal form of take but on many lakes bow fishing is.  Don't know the regs for Pinto though.

I suppose it could be that the image of people with bows stalking fish in the shallows would disturb the average park goer and therefore they won't allow it.  Just thinking out loud.

You are correct dilbeck. Snagging is just straight prohibited. I would have swore that it was legal for certain fish.
