Not sure if they are letting boats or yaks in the lake again thought.  Might have to be done frOm shore.

They do as of last year. The main issue was that the inspector took their job a bit to seriously so even a hint of dew on the hull outside or inside and you aren't fishing. The morning my brother and I showed up it was a BIT foggy and the inspector acted like even if we did dry our yaks chances are we would still fail. :smt003

My go-to bait for Carp is peanut butter sandwitches made into dough balls around a 3 or 4/0 treble with no weight.  I use a bobber if they are swimming the surface. In addition to corn, oatmeal makes great chum too but only in saltwater for legal reasons. :smt044 If they aren't biting chances are they have lock jaw and your best bet is Grimkeeper's route of snagging. Watch out though fishing carp can be very frustrating. :smt005

This is the first lake I ever came into contact with an NCKA member he was kind of A dick. :smt005.. We slayed the big carp on the far end of the lake.. Snagging was the best sollution. Foul hook A carp on its tail and what A rush!!! :smt044.. You could see them swiming in two foot of water...Sounds fun but it is tough to get through the inspections.

You know what's funny....I was thinking about going to Pinto Lake TODAY after I sneak outta work early!
But the carp in Pinto are nothing compared to the ones in lake San Antonio. I saw about 25-30 big carp (up to ~20lbs) two weeks ago. The water was crystal clear and I'd just paddle into a cove and watch em swim under my yak. I could've shot a few while sitting on my yak.

I sure wouldn't get in that water!  They ski'd in the lake way back when.  I pulled up an old ski one time & luckily nobody attached to it.  It is a small lake, about a half mile end to end.

Michael the lake is so small, but they do have a little trout event up there once a year--- stock the hell out of it for a day.  Driven past it many times coming over the hill after a night at Moe's Alley in Soquel.  It's a wonder I didn't end up in the lake!

I'm pretty sure this is legit.  A friend was out there last year when the lady ranger that works there first mentioned some type of carp derby or payout to catch them.

Also, I believe it should be open to kayaks/boats, unless they closed it for some reason in the past couple weeks.

If you ain't first, you're last.

It has been closed to fishing, Boston & all access/contact with the water for a while due to respiratory issues to humans caused by the algae.  They did soooo much to better the fishing areas, it would be a shame for it to stay closed.
