So, I have a few weeks to chew on what I want to get for Ripple II.

One decision was very easy.  Today I went to Kayak Connection and ordered a Surf 2 Summit GTS elite seat.  I've been drooling over this seat for a while, and it is one piece of highly visible bling I wanted on the yak.  It doesn't hurt that I've read nothing but rave reviews of this seat either.  The deal sealer was the news that I was getting the rudder system on Ripple II, which means I can leave the rudder on Ripple I and her resale value just shot up.

I am now leaning against an accesory bar.  I am intrigued by the fishfinder mount that goes in a scotty rod holder, and I think if I use a flush mount rod holder right in front of the forward cup holder that this will be perfect, maybe a RAM mount.

Well, I've got some time to think about it.

I figured that I would buy everything that I can from Kayak Connection as I sort of owe them.....

Looks like by your avatar you have the GTS elite also!

Any comments? (sort of too late, but I would like to hear them).

No, Mine is an Apex seat. It feels great but could use a  little more on the bottom or I could. I still have a lot to do to my boat but I am trying to get gear together for the ocean and money just won't go far enough. I just got my Plano box today and am going to try rod holders on it like mooch did. Is the seat you bought have the air bottom? If so I envy you.

No, I chose the regular.

I like a little more stability than the air cusions give, but the GTS is a THICK pad.

I contemplated your seat, but made my decision on the thickness.

I need to get some tank well demensions to start planning the live well/bait tank.

I am just iching to get my new yak....is it here yet?  :smt003

I am going to look for maybe some 1/2" foam or something. It doesn't need much but a little would be good. I am sure you will love your new boat and seat.

Phooey, they got sent the wrong seat.

Well, at least I don't have the yak yet so it is no big deal to wait a bit more.

John/jdyak and I will begin the pimping tomorrow night - gotta be ready before the RF opener. Can't wait to take the kayak out to it's maiden voyage  :kick

By the way, I decided to name my new kayak = "HULI KA" in my native language means "I caught you" :fishing2

What color is your new boat?

I have already named my boat Ripple II, but I might re-christen it to something else.

I am virtually pimping my boat.  I have decided on installing flushmount rodholders, I'm gonna get that box that everyone gets for their prowlers, I think a ram mount rod holder for the front of the boat, flushmount scotty fishfinder mount for the front, ritchie flushmount compass, I'm gonna pimp out the battery box and wiring.

I need the yak so I can get the demensions for the live well made.  Etc.

Mol - I got the same color - yum yum yellow. As for extra rod holders, I'm getting these from cabelas: I personally like the quick draw rod holder and I really like how the flush mount secures itself onto the deck of the kayak without using bolts  :smt045

I could do the same with flushmount scotties for the two that I have.

Where would you put flushmount rodholders that would allow for the but of the rod to not hit the yak?

Mol - I'll be rigging the flush mount on the same spot I did to my original P15 - the butt of the rod will hit the deck - but It does not bother me at all...

I will be looking for pics from both of you guys. I need lots of ideas so I can get my p-15 finished up. I am also trying the cabella's quick draw I hope it works good. I am also using the Plano box for a rod holder(Thanks Mooch) seems to work great. Bring on the pics and the ideas.

Jack - the other "improvement" that I will be doing with my new P15 = the carrying handle on the rear will be moved further back (since I will not get a rudder). The reason being is that it's a pain in the butt when you buddy-up and carry your yak and the handle is too far up the back end  :smt011

I will install a pad eye further back and that's where my carrying handle will go  :smt002
