Trading abalone for pot on CL?

 he caught his Abs legally... and now he wants some pot.  Whats the problem?

 

My dive buddy gifts abs to his barber ( the guys an ex diver retired cancer survivor and can't get out as much) and to thank home for the freindly gesture gives him haircuts , is that legal?

Dang it got removed...I saw it on another site then forwarded it to a local warden. And replied tothe CL post (no response yet). But maybe I shoulda kept it to myself--I'd hate to think he might get away due to my post here. 

I always give my abs away as gifts and never intend to get something back in return. So if months come by and the friend gifts me some say halibut, I dont think there is anything wrong or unethical with that........ But then again pot is illegal.

Andy, the gifting part is obviously fine. The free haircuts are fine too. I think the "legal" problem that DFG would have would be if the abs were given with the expectation of receiving the free haircut in return.

Fish caught under the authority of a sport fishing license cannot be bought, sold, traded or bartered in any manner (Fish and Game Code, sections 7121 and 75). This includes any type of trade or barter of even parts with the expectation of receiving something in return

But I ain't a lawyer....

But you played one with VD!

 If  " your buddy"    Walked in and just handed your ..um , His,  barber some abalone and then split, maybe that would suffice the letter and spirit of the law.
