Cigarettes that is. My wife is Puting cash in a jar for every week I can keep strong and give up the stupid smokes.
So any trick or tips from the bro's is appreciated, and if you see me on the water having a smoke it is acceptable to paddle over and strike me with a blunt object.
Seriously tho, as many know I've been struggling with this for a while and I'm pissed I ever started, I'm on day one and feeling it now but in the end it will be worth it.

Strong work, Brother. You will be so much better off without it. Your appetite will increase dramatically so watch your intake. But, you can always lose the weight rather than try to live with messed up lungs. I recall quitting chew many years ago. It literally is hour by hour for the first few days. You'll be hankerin to light up. Tell yourself you can make it til the next hour, then the next. When you trudge through a few days, it wil get better. You might very well be grouchy like an old bear with a toothache but stay the course. Keep us posted. Chew lots of gum! Shannon

Good luck man, you can do it, it ain't easy, I did the countdown, buy a last pack, smoke it at free will knowing you will have a last cigarette and when it's gone you are done. Pretzel sticks and sun flower seeds are now your best friend!

My friend quit and used the $$$ he used to spend on coffin nails to make the monthly payment on a nice 4x4 Tacoma.

Check with your doc... there are new drugs that help you stop and loose even the craving. Remember it is a physical addiction. Seek help and really do it!!!
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

You can do it! Do not give into temptation, not a single one. This is going to be tough for quite a while. So don't expect it to be easy, it aint. If I hadn't of quit 35+or_ years ago I know for sure I wouldn't be OTW with you kayak fishing. Trust me it's worth the struggle. BE STRONG!

Good start. It won't be easy so be strong. I have a coworker who used to be a chain smoker. Ended up with lung cancer and undergoing therapy. Things have never been the same. Sometimes we take things for granted and think it would never happen to us. But when it does, maybe too late. Think of your family and your future together with them.

Good for you bro! I quit because I wanted to, I mean really wanted to, I grew to hate it and that made it easy for me.  I think it would've been harder if I was doing it for someone else, but the way I looked at it is, if we don't have control over our own bodies, what do we have control of? Good luck brother, you can do it!

I'm 11+ years clean.. like other said, It's tough.  think hour by hour, soon it will be day by day, then month by month.  After awhile you be anti smoker yelling at people in front of resturants  :smt003

If I recall, the 15 yrs I smoked was in the $30,000 range.
