Nicorette gum helped me quit. Got me through the bad moments.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Be strong and put a pic of the AI inside your wallet, if you look at the pic next to the $20.00  before paying for a couple of smokes you will remember the rewards, not to mention you will be around for family and friends
It will become 2nd nature. if you do something for 21 days in a row it will be part of your routine.

Be strong. remind yourself its more rewarding to exercise your will power and be strong, than to give in and poison yourself. I smoked close to 15 yrs and quitting was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. If you feel a craving come on occupy or distract yourself with something. usually the urge will pass within min. when I quit I used patches for the first three days and the I was good to go. Will power FTW. You can do it.

Possibly one of the hardest things you'll ever do.  Stick with it, and don't let it get you down if you slip up here or there.  Good luck, James!

for me the key was to stay busy and for the first month avoid situations where I would always light up.   It seems different for everyone but for me I felt really twitchy and exercise really helped that part of it.  2012 is gonna be an awesome year for you, catch a big ghost and lose a nasty habit.   :smt023

More Sex! To substitute for the rush and pick-me-up cigs would give you. Let the little woman know she is  doing her part to help you quit smoking  :smt003

good on ya James. I watched a coworker quit, & it was tough but straightforward. Like MBP, she really wanted to quit both for the money & her health.

It is a very worthy fight, give it hell!

Also, seems LilRiverMan has a good take on how to make it easier! :smt044

You can do it bro. It was one of the toughest things I've done, but very worth it. You'll be stoked when your sense of smell and taste come back. I remember feeling like I was always forgetting to do something and constantly reaching for my left breast pocket. I ate a lot of carrot sticks to satisfy the oral fixation. Good luck

You can do it James! I am in the process of quiting cigarretes too but I am taking Chantix.  Look into it and see if that is something you would want to take.

You can do it James. We believe in you. What it is is just a bad habit, just gotta take up a new habit to replace it. Just chew some gun anytime you get a craving, or talk to a friend on the phone, or go for a nice jog, something to get your mind off it. It's all in the head.  :smt001
