Hey Jim, let's have a lil BBQ get together or a dinner and sit and see what the area has to offer. And where you can start these tourneys at. Contact your local fishing peeps.

I'm open after the 23rd.

It looks like you've got the interest and lots of options.  I'll  stay tuned.  Congrats on the new baby.

Thoughts and Comments welcome :)

Thoughts? This sounds pretty ambitious for a guy w/a fresh baby!
Comments? This sounds awesome Jim!

Maybe mix in a winter steelhead event too. (-:
Hey I just had an idea! There s/b some kind of NCKA end-of-the-year event on Dec 31 for all those AOTY crazies. Fish til midnight to close-out the season. And then keep fishing into 2013 @ 12:01am haha!

The free ramp area down below clarksburg might be a good spot for the sturgeon portion. I can understand the concern for new yakers like myself but maybe we pair up for the sturgeon portion for safety reasons. Just a thought.

Another idea might be some instruction on landing a sturgeon on a yak and anchoring techniques.

I would also be willing to help anyway I can.

The SacCrew does a Steelhead Fish & Chill every year. It's the Dare to be Barbless event typically it is an Invitational because of the winter and river temp/currents that goes along with. It is ment for the seasoned river anglers but maybe this year we can open it up to additional individuals who have had river experence.  Here's the flyer I had sent out last year to the group.

I would love to have some events or tournaments closer to my neck of the woods.  That drive to the bay is a long haul.

I would also love to learn sturgeon, never went for those before, it's illegal back home.

Count me in for all three trips, although I might try to lobby for a different trout lake. If I'm alone on this one I will happily go to amador, but there are a few other great trout lakes that have non mutant fish for a muchore reasonable price... Then again I can't think of any other place besides lake almonot where I have cought trout over seven lbs...
