First I read the spinal cord one now this... Not to say I wouldn't try it but before reading this I would not have thought about eating stomach contents.

Here’s a 14 inch Bull Trout I found in the stomach of a 28 inch Lake Trout.

I could tell it was a bull trout because its tail was sticking out into the lake trout’s mouth, so the skin on the tail hadn’t been digested yet.

In Montana, bull trout are endangered, and in virtually all bodies of water it’s illegal to deliberately fish for or keep bull trout.  And the penalties for illegally taking bull trout are severe.  There may be members of this forum who are thinking, “Hey, that would have been a great opportunity to try cooking and eating that bull trout! Which hadn’t been very much digested by the lake trout.”  I am not one of those members.  That half-digested bull trout went back into the lake with the lake trout guts.

I thin that cleaning fish at home, would give you the right to eat anything found inside any fish caught. I would also agree that cleaning fish before you get home and having an Ab with your fillets would get you a an instant citation. Can't think of a more ethical way of using all the resources given to you.

LOL!!

Old school thread!  :smt005

I love the various gut nuggets we get in our fish out here...always worth giving them the "sniff test" to see if they are good enough to eat!
