I would say that if this is a paddle event the PB would not count. Bu that's just my take on it.

I'm in if I can figure out what mooching is. I thought he was the beneficiary of this event.

I'd love to follow the salmon guys out at first light to learn the fishery from a yak.  Not in it for the cash but would be in it for the education!  Are they being caught on the mooch or the troll there now?  Hearing purpl haze hoochies?

It's all mooching and the preferred bait it the medium sized herring in the green package. For those who want to compete, plan for a 5:30 AM launch which means you should be there at 5AM. I will only register contestants on the beach before the 530 AM departure. Before we launch I will tell you what you need to do to catch a salmon and give a brief lecture. Bring mooching equipment and 1-2 trays of bait. We need to have at least 100' spacing between boats. The winner will be for the heaviest salmon. This is going to be fun and although a contest, remember it is about paying it forward. Scott

Barbless hooks if memory serves me right.  Hook size preference anyone?

I believe if mooching you need barbless CIRCLE hooks. Not barbless octopus like several stores have.

Would it be possible for someone to pick up bait for me and Adam? We will be driving all night to get there. An hour or two of sleep in the parking lot would be great not having to worry about bait. Thanks to whoever might volunteer in advance.

Everybody has to launch from MBK at 530AM.

That would be great Scott on the bait. Is one each enough? Pm me real brief how you set up the leaders. I may have what I need here. If not I would gladly accept and pay for some. I'll let Adam know what is going on if he does not see it here.
