Was thinking maybe even heading down Monday night and paddling till dusk and then sleeping in the bed of my truck and doing again Tuesday.

Ryan

I'll do my best to get down there with you, bro - I'll be on vacation, but wifey and the kids are gonna wanna do something.  Hopefully I'll be convincing them that the funnest thing for us to do is work together on brining and smoking salmon!   :smt005

OHHH Crap!!!

LOL

We shall hit it for sure...

I am available anytime when the water is calling.  My rig can hold two yaks on top possibly 3.  If we splitting gas my rig will go.

I have 5 deep six with flashers/ dodgers all rigged and ready with strait bait,  hootchie+bait, and apex.  I have plenty of 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz crescent trolling/mooching sinkers to last all summer.

LETS GO GET EM.  MY SMOKERS ARE SITTING READY TO GO :smt003

What time do you want to leave Tuesday Morning, I'm down to split gas.
I can fit two yaks in my truck in the bed.
I want to hit the cove early Tuesday I am needing some therapy of the right kind and no better way then too troll...

The way it looks I will be be waiting for reports from Eric and Domenic since my girlfriend and I were invited to a homebrewfest Saturday afternoon.  If reports sounds promising then I will fish Sunday morning.  Monday doesn't look good, but I am into splitting gas and going tuesday.  If anything, I can find some sand dabs for bait and food as well as potential halibut spots.

I'll be aiming to hit that with you, Ryan - if the ocean's not cooperating or the salmon bite's dead we'll have the mid morning minus tide to go shopping for abs.   :smt001

First light seems ambitious, checking the weather for Saturday tomorrow night but I'll probably hit the cove this weekend at least for some abs.

I believe these are the regs...

Regulatory Language
Section 27.80, Title 14, CCR is amended to read:
§27.80. Salmon.
(a) Methods of take:
(1) General Provisions. Only by angling as defined in Section 1.05. No sinkers or
weights exceeding four pounds may be used, except that a fishing line may be attached
to a sinker or weight of any size if such sinker or weight is suspended by a separate line
and the fishing line is released automatically by a mechanical device from the sinker or
weight when any fish is hooked. See sections 28.65 and 28.70.
(2) Barbless Hooks. No more than two (2) single point, single shank barbless hooks
shall be used in the ocean north of Point Conception (34o 27'00” N. lat.) when salmon
fishing or fishing from any boat or floating device with salmon on board.
(3) Other Hook Restrictions. When fishing with bait in the ocean between Horse
Mountain (40o05'00” N. lat.) and Point Conception, if angling by any means other than
trolling, then no more than two (2) single point, single shank, barbless circle hooks shall
be used. The distance between the two hooks must not exceed five inches when
measured from the top of the eye of the top hook to the inner base of the curve of the
lower hook, and both hooks must be permanently tied in place (hard tied). A circle hook
is defined as a hook with a generally circular shape, and a point which turns inwards,
pointing directly to the shank at a 90 degree angle. Trolling is defined as angling from a
boat or floating device that is making way by means of a source of power, other than
drifting by means of the prevailing water current or weather conditions. See Section
28.65(g).
(4) One Rod Restriction north of Point Conception. Salmon may be taken by angling
with no more than one rod in ocean waters north of Point Conception. See Section
28.65(e).

retained.

Yes, Scott - the official regs just got adopted.  20" total length this year - that should present more opportunities for 'keepers'.

I'm telling you GS participants:  BRING YOUR BARBLESS GEAR!!!

We're going to see multiple salmon this year.   :smt007

Damn!  I'm gonna have to have an attorney look at and explain those regs to me.  How and why has fishing become so complicated?

GB2's quote says 40d 05'

Source?  The management area is at the 40d 10' line. This actually makes a huge difference at shelter cove.
