Agreed. I take it all back. Mooch, you are in charge of eggs for the breakfast burritos. You did a great job at red barn. Not a single bit of shell was found. Keep up the good work!!

I fished all day today...with NO ALCOHOL...someone saying I need a drink to have fun...???  I respect our verterans and our fellow people... so don't think I need to party everytime just to have fun (just most of the time) :smt005...!!! I'm still down to Help for a Great Reason For a Great Cause!!! And if I can remember most of what happens the next day all the better!!!  But I do Party like a Rock Star... Just NOT at a HOW event!!!  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 HOW's that sound???  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044  All IN!!!

I was telling new peeps at lake mendo this morning about NCKA and the upcoming HOW Event and that it's a family thing...............and that we/me kick guys like (me) to the curb if we don't behave........ :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

I've sent in all the request for the permits...

they are kinda making me jump through a few hoops on this one as Doran is so crowded this time a year...

There are only a few camp sites available as it is, I noticed a few first come first serve...

So, I'm waiting to see if we are approved before I reserve a campsite.

I also think it's hopeless to get park fees waived...  :smt009

I'm trying, will keep ya posted...

It' not that their being difficult, and I had a nice talk with the supervisor out there, but they just get slammed with non-profits hitting them up for favors... I'm noticing this more and more that companies and now county parks are putting a limit on what they will do for non-profits,

no matter what the cause....

Interesting times we live in when volunteering to help those in need is difficult....  :smt011

and as far as participants,

we have to keep this one a bit smaller, so somewhere around +/- 20 wounded warriors...

Right-on Don, We sure appreciate all the high-stepping,hoop-jumping and bureaucracy dancing that you endure to make these events happen. I also think that keeping this event on the small side is a good idea. We have the added element of changing in and out of wetsuits to contend with.Although there is a bathroom there, i think it would be cool to set up a changing room. My e-zup has walls and we could put down some astro turf and chairs. I also think it would be cool if we borrowed a few of those propane heaters. On the upside, everyone of those guys will be going home with a fat sack of fresh dungeness crab.

So does that mean we aren't expecting any a VA bus Don?  Not sure if I can get that day off yet but I'll bring tent again...incase.  Also if the folks camping the day before can give us a weather update that would help to lighten the cargo.  Thanks!
