Sounds good Jack and Raydon...

save recites, keep them clean, meaning just for the items you get for the HOW event,

I'll bring the coffee pots and we should be able to get power somewhere...

Frank will know soon about the Sheriffs and I like your idea for lunch as it will be a smaller group...

were going to have more NCKA than Vets on this one, which is good...

I'd really like a 2 to 1 vet ratio on the water...

No Problem.  I will bring fruit, and makings for hot chocolate and hot apple cider.   Warm drinks will help warm them vets.

Also.  Jack,  tell what we need to help you with lunch.  I can bring sourdough bread, always goes good
with crab, and warm spagetti might be nice.    spagetti with crab meat.  Oh,  I can taste it now.
If you want, I can do that also.

Let me know.

I'll make a huge pot of manhattan clam chowder.

Well swell is pretty big but from the northwest so the direction of the cove should be protected but still big, most likely do able but forcast might change between now and then i thinki we should keep a close eye on it.

Thanks,

I think we need to make the decision tomorrow morning as to reverse the train if we need too.

We are working with a sort of Fragile population on this one and can not expect newbies to take on rough seas and crabbing for the first time...

Keep opinions coming....

Don, If the forecast is what it is I think we should aire on the side of caution. I would not ask my family to do this with this forecast and they have more experience then these vets. So if pulling the plug is what you decide I am 100% behind you.

There are two activities for this event; one is the task of kayaking & catching the crabs, the other is the actually crab feast itself.

If we can not provide the first part because of lack of experience, can't we use our more experienced kayakers to at least provide them the crab feast itself?

That way it won't be a total loss; just my two cents....

I just got a PM from RockHopper and he thinks this is a Bad situation..

He was there last weekend with conditions that were half of what we are looking at this weekend and he said it was tough with capsizes...

we can not expect newbies to go out in rough seas, Alaskan cold front and possibility of rain...

I think we have all the info we need to pull the plug right now, but I'm going to leave it open to deciding tonight or tomorrow morning....

Bummer...  Life on the Rugged West Coast.....   :smt004 :smt009

I'll check with the VA how they feel about that...

Nice Alternative.... I'm supposed to be talking with the lead therapist soon and will run it by them....

Yeah Don, I'd at least wait until tomorrow afternoon to call it. These friggin' forecasts change so quickly sometimes that it could be totally different by tomorrow.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

If I go it will be just for the day.  I really would like to help out too.  Still tentative though.  My Tatay wants me to see the Big Game with him this Saturday.  Thanks for the invite again.
