Hi All,    :smt006

Been really busy with taking a torpedo to the side....  :smt012

  anyway...

should be doing lots of work with this tomorrow...

this is what we have at the moment...

we'll need to organize and were definitely low on yaks, we also need to think of what were going to use to catch fish as we need to outfit a couple dozen newbie kayakfisherman quickly on Saturday, and we'll probably have to go out in shifts as we are low on volunteers and yaks. We are looking at about 1/2 dozen Warrior Transition Unit vets fishing with us on Friday and camping over, pretty kool,

and keep tuned as more to come...

anyone interested or want to help out in anyway...  post up, we can use the help...

That sounds good,  I did not want to start " scrounging for yaks... " and having us make extra stops and be responsible for others equipment, but were kinda in a situation now...

Looks like this will be the last  " Big " event where we have to bring everything like this...

When we go this big in the future, we'll have support from a kayakshop or some other entity....

Kelsey Bass Ranch is just a little special in that it's in the middle of no where and have to reinvent the wheel...

Thanks Everyone and even if we get have half the kayaks we need, we will get it done and everything will be fine...   :smt004

Looks like were sitting around a dozen kayaks right now...

we have had a few vets back out of the Friday gig, their having surgery, what a bummer...   anyway,

still waiting for the VA to give me a number for Saturday...

My feeling is if we can get a few more loaner yaks to get it closer to 20,

we could make this work a little better...

but if this is it... I know we will make this work too...

Another chalange is going to be the bite...

"Scott" , a Kelsey Bass Ranch Member is going to be helping us out that day with his power boat and I asked him what he thought would be the best bait to work with...

 here was his reply...

Quote
It has been a tuff bite out there lately. My thought is a split shot and a RoBo worm. Old school . I catch a lot of fish on brush hogs with a screw in weight. I am going to try and fish this weekend too...My partner likes to throw flukes in baby bass color, which is the common color, but the shad pattern is starting to work too. See Kelsey does not like us to use Senko's and I believe that is the easiest bait for a none bass angler to use. Maybe we should ask him if we can throw stick baits for the ease of the vets. I will make a list this weekend of my go to baits for Kelsey's.

As we know, Catching has not been our forte' at these events, and yet the Troops seem to have a great time in seeing the effort we put on in their honor...

just would be nice to see a few go Bendo!!!

 More to come...   :smt004

Marauder
Prowler 15
Hobie Maui
Altura
Zest tandem ?
scupper pro ?
fishndive

I have to count my vests, paddles and seats. I'll have to pull down there with my yak trailer.

DUDE!!!

You just made my weekend!!!    :smt004

That looks like 7 kayaks, am I correct??? So I can put you on the list and we could use ncka on the water...

were still working on a few things with paddleboy, so if you can get on the water, that would be great... and give me a count on paddles/vest, maybe Paddleboy can help with that too...

and Big Thanks to Paddleboy and His kayak shop in Lodi,  :smt006

he's busy that weekend, but helping us with some gear...

Give him a stop by if your in Lodi or looking for a yak....

**** Even more important now that EVERYONE MARK YOUR GEAR!!!!!!  ****

Also we have been given a pass on Friday to show up when ya want, no need to wait till the afternoon....

But also realize that the temperature is expected to drop to 95 on Friday, might be better to show up late afternoon anyway and enjoy the dusk fishing .... suppose to be a little cooler on Saturday

Kayakjack and Raydon...

you are in charge of food, I will cc you on my e-mail so you can coordinate directly with Miriam at the VA...

They are expected to bring hotdogs , hamburgers, drinks, paper plates etc... just for a count of the vets they are bringing...

but if you guys come up with a different plan, and have an idea of what you would like them to bring, let them know...  their budget is tight, usually between $50 to $100 bucks....

call anytime on this ...  and I'll write you checks when I see ya...

and make sure anything you guys buy that HOW is reimbursing, the receipts need to be clean, no cash withdraws or personal stuff...

 Thanks

I also have 48 hotdogs, 2 big coffee makers and coffee, 3 64oz bottles of apple juice, 20 papper plates/ bowls. 100 Styrofoam cups, lots of forks, knives spoons....

we will need more paper plates, bowls and paper towels, especially if ribs are on the menu...

Racinrob... are you still bringing your RV? and can we get power off that? If not, maybe I can bring a Marine Battery with an untrusty inverter that will keep us going for a while, or at least that morning for coffee...
