Kelsey Bass Ranch September 10th

Looks like Frankfishing our Assistant Coordinator is proving his worth already...

  He is in the works for getting 1 or maybe 2 handycapped porta poties and possibly a garbage bin " donated... " to our Kelsey Bass Ranch event...

 this is HUGE!!!  This will save us over $200 in expense!!!  and a very good gester towards Mr. Kelsey in taking care of our mess...

Will be providing Frank with a 25 pound turkey. Will make my T13 available, although I will stay shorebound on that day. Camping out on Friday sounds like fun.

 Saturday is going to be very utilitarian, basic on hot dogs and hamburgers and whatever is easy,  But, we will have kayakjack breaking it down with the Man Kitchen whip-in breakfast burritos in the morning,  now that will be special, so if ya got an idea... go for it!!!

Summer is coming to a close and I expect that this event will grow as we get close...

  Keep posted and checking in as this will probably be a last second scramble to get what we need...  the different orgs that can help us with food and stuff are kinda booked already with that weekend... kinda figures 9/11 weekend, but we will get'er done....

  Raydon, is the $75 donation, cash you have collected or a credit with that meat place? WE can get them a Tax letter for their donation and to people who have given you money too, if that is the case...

 Frankfishing has secured a donation from the Waste Management Co for the handicap porta potties we need as well as trash bins!!!!
       

 This is awesome as this is real cash out of our budget and HOW National that does not need to happen now...

Neither Bertha nor I can make that rip.  Kelsey is tough on Bertha and she has all new graphics on her, last trip out there the brush raked her sides. I had to do a lot of polisihing on her to get those out.    No more giant white whale.  I have to NG Duty that weekend.  So I am out.  Send me a pm witht he link so I can make a donation to help out otherwise.  My boat is availble if someone can haul it out there.  I will see if Gf is free as she may want to go out. there.  in that case she could take it.  FYI this is the same weekend as the East Bay Stand Down, this works with a lot of veterans mostly homeless guys.

 Thanks for chiming in, you've been on my list of things to do.  Totally understand the local difficulties and we will be fine. The VA is bringing some heavy duty spinal cases and the therapist will be loaded for bear on those, so were covered.

Sorry you can't make it, but it is my hope that we are going to start having more frequent/smaller events in the near future and hope to see ya at one or so soon.  Were just starting to work on a river float thing in Lodi area, keep posted...

Operation Stand Down, I have been in contact with them. I'm going to have a meeting with them soon as to see how we can help each other. Few different orgs out there too that we are trying to align with...

 I think were going to shy away from going around picking up different yaks from everyone. It's a nice offer, but just to much of a logistics nightmare and hate to be responsible for someones gear.

Might change my mind on this as we get close and were low on yaks, but I feel confident it will work out just fine...

I can give you a good contact for the stand down if you need one.  My old boss is doing a lot this year for that one.  He asked me if I would go but I can't.  He is an awesome guy to work with and I hat turning him down.

 here is a recent report, might need to think outside the box on this too...

 

"Fished from 0800 until about 1400ish.  Fished the whole lake and aside from the 10 incher we caught off the dam, all our fish came from the same 50 yard stretch off the two shallow points on the east side of the lake.  We caught approximately 25 fish all on, get this, 3/8 oz. white jigs.  Tried everything in the boat and that's all we could get them to eat.  The bite was a vicious tap-tap-tap, then dead weight, no swim-offs.  You knew when you had a taker.  Overall it was tough but it is August after all.  Water is warm and still very clear.  The visibility is 8 to 10 feet in places."

 getting rods set up with something that will catch fish is a huge hurdle,

especially when your dishing out around 30 or so at the same time!!!!

  Hopefully we figure out the pattern on Friday and know what to put on the end of those rods...

Danglin, I won't be going to Beijing due to lower leg injury.  But I'll be in HI that weekend, and will have to miss this.  Looks like its shaping up to be an awesome event
