sucks big time.  Hope you can still look at the positive side of things and not let it ruin your entire day.  Peace.  Maybe a little water therapy is in order.

In the big picture I was lucky - they didn't mess with my (really nice) stereo or the permanently wired iPod classic in the glove box.  Gate remote and garage door opener were left in the console.  It just makes cleaning up glass, getting the boy to school, getting to the office and getting the glass shop going a big pain in my Wednesday.  Could have been worse, there was a fiery fatality on my commute this morning, so I'm feeling pretty lucky to have such minor problems.

Water therapy definitely necessary.

Had the same something happen to me in nice residential area in San Jose about 3 years.  After attending a friend's BBQ I
found out my rear window was smashed.   A group of bored high school kids with nothing better to do on their summer vacation vandalized cars and houses along the neighborhood.

Its a good thing my friend had a shopvac and helped clean the broken glass.  CSAA charged me $100 for a new window.  I hope those bastards that do this rot in hell.

That happened to my wife's car on the 21th last Monday. All they did was throw her papers around and take a Kenny Rodgers CD. But no broken window, she left the door unlocked.

That happened to a friend in Chico. Smashed window did not take anything. Came back to nights in a row and stole everything they could get their hands on. Be careful

BTDT x 2   :smt011  totally sux, feel very violated after.

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,15231.0.html

The first time, my sister was visiting from So Cal while I was vacationing in HI so I lent her my car.  Come back and there's my car in the garage, with a smashed out rear portside window, glass everywhere.  A $400 check and a sorry note pinned under the wiper blade.  I was like, WTH didn't you tell me, and WTF didn't you get it fixed while I was gone?  She said it would have eaten into her shopping time/vacation time, and that her hubbie/ my brother in law tried to clean it up, nicked a finger, and said hell with this.

She had gone shopping in SF, stayed a friend's house in Nob Hill, parked it overnight on the street, and some bum thought he'd help himself to the warm clothing in the car.  We ended up pissed at each other for nearly a year after that.

Moral:  get it fixed and try not to let it lead to other frustrations.  You are so right when you say, it could totally have been worse.

It happened in my drive also one time. Some GD kids joyriding with a BB gun. Oh well. State Farm wrote a shet on it. Paid me and I fixed it myself. Made 1800.00 on the deal. There was a couple of BB shots on the lift gate too.

I am so glad nothing was taken. that leaves a very violated feeling in the gut. If you lived up here I would fix the window for free. In fact if you want to, I can order the window , you come to Petaluma and I will install it for free. Good karma for me and less out of pocket for you. I fixed O2B's window when it was busted out at Smith River. PM me if interested. I need the make , model, year and Vin. Craig

That sucks. BTDT more than once. Glad they didn't tear apart the dash for the stereo or get the iPod. Keep lookin' on the bright side - things could always be worse.
