Drive South of Skyline blvd and I'm almost sure you'll see snow. I also hear Montara Mountain in HMB will have some white stuff on it.

My house is at about 2200 feet elevation, and we had continual snow all day last Saturday. Temp was a steady 32 degrees the whole day. By Sunday morning 2/20 we had a total accumulation of about 2-3".

This Friday & Saturday our temps are forecast to be 31 degrees with a total accumulation of about 3-4" by Saturday night. If everything lines up perfectly it could snow at sea level tomorrow. It will be frikkin cold for sure.

In 1974 & 1977 Santa Cruz had big snowstorms in town. I think it was the '74 storm that dumped 4" on the wharf.

The most snow I have personally seen in Bonny Doon was in  February 2001 when we got between 4-6" of heavy wet snow. It was nuts, cars all over the place.

A few years later we got about 3" of snow but it came with 26 degree temps that froze the melt into solid ice on the roads. While trying to get down the mountain in my bronco (in 4-low, 1st gear) I got rear ended by a kid in a new BMW. It may have totaled the BMW but only bent the rear bumper of my truck. He gave me $100 to not report the accident to his insurance. :smt002
My AAA guy said they had over 30 claims from Bonny Doon from that one day.
These days I just don't drive when it snows.

Al, that is exactly what Pine Flat looked like Saturday morning. Beauty pics!
It should be a pretty weekend in the mountains! I just hope our electricity is back on by Sunday afternoon.

Highway 9 @ Skyline bro! Or take Bear Creek Road to Skyline and head North.  At the top of 9 there is a huge area for parking and tons of people playing in the snow.  Many other pullouts along skyline/35 as well.  Bring your 4Wheel Drive  :smt003

I also know of a spot you can reach from Almaden Valley, up Hicks road to Mount Ummanum road.  There is a gate at the top to block you from going all the way, but its a nice spot to pull up and walk in to the snow.
