heay Sean....Can we come up this weekend! My wife wants to show our daughter snow! Actually know any places that will have enough to play in?
Highway 9 @ Skyline bro! Or take Bear Creek Road to Skyline and head North.  At the top of 9 there is a huge area for parking and tons of people playing in the snow.  Many other pullouts along skyline/35 as well.  Bring your 4Wheel Drive  :smt003

I also know of a spot you can reach from Almaden Valley, up Hicks road to Mount Ummanum road.  There is a gate at the top to block you from going all the way, but its a nice spot to pull up and walk in to the snow.

sweet thanks Al!

Yeah, the Skyline/Hwy 9 is probably best. Bonny Doon will most likely have the roads closed Saturday.
Empire cutoff, Empire grade, Alba, and Jameison creek were all closed last weekend due to cars sliding off the roadway.

I actually saw a bicyclist on a mtn bike fly past my driveway during the snowfall. Dude must have been freezing his knernles off.

It's been Frisco for a long time.  Way before "queen" meant something else entirely in that town.

If you think Bay Area drivers are bad now, just wait until they go driving around in the hills looking for a spot to go sledding this weekend.  :smt044
I think we can all predict news stories about the multitude of cars slid off the roads and multiple car pile ups.  :smt009

Or, the slick bottom body board works very well too.
Jim & I body boarded a snow covered hill years before I knew what "snowboarding" was. :smt044

Those publications all post date the following declarations (both by San Francisco "Government Officials"

Emperor Norton 1872:

"Whoever after due and proper warning shall be heard to utter the abominable word "Frisco", which has no linguistic or other warrant, shall be deemed guilty of a High Misdemeanor, and shall pay into the Imperial Treasury as penalty the sum of twenty-five dollars"

Because he referred to this city as "Frisco" on four occasions while testifying before Judge Mogan yesterday in his petition for a divorce, Hal R. Hobbs, Los Angeles automobile dealer, was threatened with internment.

So did anyone actually get any white stuff overnight as predicted?  I was heading over the hill from Santa Rosa to Calistoga around 5:30 this morning and my truck thermometer said it was 45 degrees. How about down south?

It was 43 at my house. Raining & very gusty winds, but no snow. Lots of standing water & mud on Empire Grade. Fortunately no trees down yet so I made it to work :smt044

Now it sounds like it will chill down tonight & then probably snow sometime past midnight. NWS says anywhere from 1-3" at 2200ft.

It was FREEZING and pouring rain sideways and with wind gusts that felt like they would blow you over last night at the Soquel High Track.
