I lost my older brother unexpectedly last week, he was 56.

Since he had diabetes and hypertension, most likely it was heart failure.
The past week has brought a whole slew of new experiences (I'd never been to a mortuary before, or planned someone's final ceremony, or had to box up someone else's life) and plenty of reflection on what is important in life.

I was lucky enough to have talked to my brother just a fews days before he died, and that has been a real help.

So, just keep in mind that keep those you care for close to you (at least in your communication) and remember that life is precious 9so tell 'em you love them if you do)

I have been relying on my kayak to take the stress off for a number of years, and it hasn't failed yet so I'll be amped to get back on the water & fishing in 2011.

Peace to ya'll and I'll see OTW.

Im so sorry for your loss Sean.  No words can express what that must be like for you.  Stay strong, and maintain perspective.  If you need some H20 therapy, just let me know.

Sean, I am sorry to hear this tragedy has hit you & your family. I hope you are all able to overcome this terrible loss. Let us (your other family) know when you're ready to hit the water for a feelgood session.

Sorry to hear that Sean... Having to box up someone else's life does put things into perspective, it will also make you much stronger bro.

Ive been cleaning out my Dads house since his early Nov death, so know exactly what you mean.  Remember that life is precious, that includes your own.  Each day can be our last healthy or not.  So dont let the weight of it all keep you from breathing and living yourself.

I am sorry for the loss, Brother. Having three brothers I have marveled at how all of us have survived. Many close calls but always made it through. With us all being between 50 & 60 I know that it is coming, but you can't be prepared. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your's.
