I finally found a tackle box that serves my purpose....

It's made by Plano and it called an "Over and Under" (I did not see a model number)

* I was able to fit ALL my tackle (for salt water and freshwater) in this one box. And the nice thing is that I can take it with me to a certain location and then pick and choose what I need for that day of fishing - and then I use a smaller T-Box that fits inside my plano (model 1612-50) box - that fits snug behind my Prowler 15....

1) the T-Box itself
2) the front cover opens up for all my plugs
3) open the next cover and it opens up to the main compartment
4) and within the main compartment, you can pull out a tray on the bottom left hand side
5) and then you have two more trays under that

* I've gone through so many T-Boxes and I finally found one that works well for me  .....a love story indeed :smt007

Dam, your organized. Mines a orange Plano, its like the black hole, stuff just goes missing and all loose lures stuffed in zip lock bags, hooks everywhere, weight everywhere and usually moldy and wet. Poor mans/Lazy mans box for sure. Look forward to seeing what everyone else has.

Mines worth no pics.

Yeah, I'm right there with you Porky :smt044 Toss all the miscellaneous stuff into the plano & paddle on!
Actually I use one tackle tray that I keep in the cockpit of the yak too.

The plano is a little customized of course....

I just use a bunch of clear plano single storage units. I have each one for a certain fishing type. I.E. Senkos/plastics, shallow running baits, deep running baits, topwater, Yozuris/BBR's, trout lures, etc. Its easy to pick and choose tackle units to where I am going. I always have a couple extra empty ones if I want to mix them up a little and only take a few lures. It has worked great in the ast, and I plan on continuing using them. The only problem I see is flipping the yak. The last yardsale I had I lost a few of them, only the floating lure unit floats!

I actually inherited it from my ex bro in law. He used it for his tools. I'm sure you can find 'em on line.

I am with jeffrm20, I also use a bunch of clear plano boxes. Six of them fit in a milk crate, I use my lable maker and throw a label on them and then place a piece of  clear packing tape over that so they don't come loose.  For my trip to Sequia NP, I took a small double sided box, carried a punch of spoons and spinners, and some small plugs with me.

Joel where have you been dude, the over under is older than most of us on this site....including you my man.

I roll with clear plastic trays also, each one loaded with gear for a specific type of fishing.  I try not to take more than one with me on any given trip.  I just don't see the point in dragging a tackle box full of junk around if I'm gonna be rockin the iron all day. I've never been on the water plugging for bass and wish I had a 3 oz ball sinker :smt104

I do the same as most, try and store in clear plastic containers and sort the containers for the types of fishing.  But I still end up using an empty one and filling it with what I think I need for the day instead of bringing all the containers.  I have learned that no matter how many lures I  bring, I usually only have time to swap techniques two or three times during the day anyway.

I'm with Kayote on this one, an entire wall of my garage is lined with gear.  The garage stuff is a combo of clear Plano's, various tupperware boxes and a few larger tubs (yes, I am a tackle whore), and I usually condense my gear-for-the-day into a backpack load of Plano's.  Seems I always have a small tupperware with the basics that stays on deck, otherwise everything else gets stored below.

Same here. That's why I have to park my car in the driveway...garage is full. One day I'll take some pics (or make a dang video!) of my tackle "storage" system lol.

Believe me, I've had PLENTY of tackle. I just now have come to that point where I know what I need and that I no longer need to experiment with all these new "fish catching" lures that are coming out of the market every year. All I do at this point, is replenish the lures that have worked for me in the past.

You know what they say, "Lures" catches more fishermen than fish :smt003
