Funny video. But I find it kind of ironic that he says “These things are going to get hooked before it’s all said and done…if they keep acting dumb like this.”
Because, yeah they could get hooked if you keep playing w/them like pets, dumbass! Who is the dummy in this video?
And this is from someone who hates geese lol!

Attacked? By somehing that's in the very bottom of the food chain? If that goose had some daggar-like teeth, sharp claws or if it could spit poisonous venom, then I'd be afraid.

Oh, you mean like a bald eagle that was repeatedly taunted?  :smt044  :smt044  :smt044  :smt002

Taunted? By who?  :smt002 What idiot would do such a thing  :smt006

That goose wanted him as his cell mate.

Dr. Dave is right!

My mom used to have a pet goose when I was a kid. I hated it. It always either tried to hump me or bite me. It finally met the end of my brother"s Louisville Slugger after biting him and he got fed up.

The gander wasn't trying to fight Drew, he was trying to hump him!   :sign17: :sign19: They always jump on the back and pin the neck down and ram it home! :smt008 WE had a pillow on the patio furniture that our pet goose would not leave alone. Worse than a dog on your leg! Humped the tar out of it.

Listen to the cackle he makes about 1:48. That is the sound of a horny gander! Then he got territorial over the hen all hissed at him. That gander considered Drew "his" wench!

Drew needs to go get a EPT and a STD test!   :smt044

WOW,
I don't know what's worse:
A. Getting attacked by the Goose
B. Being a Pro Staff and needing help getting back into the boat
C. having it all cought on tape
D. All of the above

The worse part of the whole deal is this guy recorded it on his own recorder,
than released it for all to admire  :smt102

OK I gotta have Drews back a little on this one.

A. Getting attacked by the Goose OK that was just funny
B. Being a Pro Staff and needing help getting back into the boat He is not on a sit on top, it is a sit in which are much tougher to get back in, I am sure he was a little freaked by the attack goose too. I have seen way to many guys out on the water that can't get back on their sit ons to give him much crap for this.
C. having it all cought on tape  He shoots most of his trips and is not so big headed that he cared if people saw it, it was too damn funny not to share
D. All of the above
Drew is a kayak fishing guide in SC and actually does some pretty cool stuff, like stand up fishing for bass while going down small rapids. I would venture to say most people would not even try that. Cut the guy some slack he shared with us one funny as hell video knowing he would catch some crap about it and didn't care

Jim,
Although I find it comical about the Goose - I have to agree with you about the self rescue and filming
You are right and I apologize.
I guess I wasnt seeing that side of things.
My comments were out of line and again I appolagize

i think its great that he posted it regardless of the flak that he may get.  i'm sure some other guys who recorded similar things would not post it because they're too "macho" - from what I can tell on drew's website he seems to be a pretty good guy and a damned good fisherman for his specialty - some of those smallies are freakin huge!

now for me to figure out how to mount a camera behind me so others can see how many embarrassing situations i end up in on a daily basis  :smt001 like crashing into trees, tangling rods, ramming into pisciform's kayak...

If anybody sees me taunting horny geese w/pinner bass (and calling them dumb)...you have full permission to smack me in the face w/your paddle.

It's true that everybody makes mistakes such as falling out of our yaks occasionally. That's no big deal.
I guess that it's my fault as an 'amateur' for having higher expectations of a 'pro staffer' in that IMO he should always be able to self-rescue into the watercraft that he chose to paddle, unless someone forced him to paddle that SIK.
I appreciate that he released the vid, it is very funny, but after watching it I would not pay to have this guy guide me. jim

Sponsorship in all sports = name recognition + marketability + ability to move product.  Abilities and skill level alone will not make you a,"pro staffer," and you can get by without em.  :smt003

Thanks to Jim and Drew for that one.  I laughed my ass off.   I wouldn't have had a clue to watch out for horny geese.  And it had a female swimming around with it.  I guess kinky happens to all species.  That dude just got tired of the feathered menu.

Good thing it didn't attack from the other side.
