I really love geese .................Smoked, Roasted,with lots of sauce 

If I had to self rescue, I wouldn't let a pissed off goose get in the way. I have access to a paddle = I'll use it to my advantage   . And if I didn't know how to react to a simple situation like that, then I think I'd be better off taking a class on Geese self defense  before I head out to country.

I would put my dog up against that crazy-ass goose in a heartbeat... the goose might get in a couple licks first, but Bailey would bring da pain and tear that goose's head not-so-clean off.

    Hard to believe that a pro angler didn't know that you don't "hang out" with geese for that very reason!  Geese are so unpredictable and can be so nasty!  He needed to establish himself on top of the food chain much earlier in the day!   I have hung out with a pair of mallards before while fishing, but I do not trust geese or swans! 

Ha, Ha, Ha, ....  Thank You for that post.  Good lesson for fishermen to not trust Geese.  

Speaking from experience a goose neck snaps really easy. And since they float after said snap they make for a great current/wind direction indicator.
About the whole "can't self rescue" thing; what a lame ass!

Yeah the Sun and Moon inn is a funky cool place and you can catch all kinds of fish right in front of it.
