Wtg really nice fish. I agree fall is the best I get energized this time of year. I really love when I can combine fishing with hunting. Like stripers and ducks on the Feather.

I need to win the lottery or just quit my job. Living out of the truck wouldnt be easy but it would assure enough days on the water to be on the podium at the end of the year. :smt044

R'black, relax. It doesn't really matter if you're at any podium at the end of the year. I, for one, know you fish hard. 'Nuff said. You met us, we met you, all is good.
I didn't particitpate in earlier AOTY because I thought it took the fun out of MY fishing. I still tend to agree with that to an extent. I might not do it next year...
I was happy enough fishing before AOTY.

Another beautiful adventure. The hills seem to change color right in front of your eyes if you gaze long enough. Most people  plan a whole vacation to see just a portion of what we experience on our road trips. One example was a bear cub who thoroughly entertained us mere feet from the waters edge where we were fishing. The cub came to a section of riverbank behind us that was near vertical and started climbing. I thought to myself there is no way that bear was going to make it up that sheer rock face, but it did...amazing.

This trip exhausted my adrenaline reserves as I lost fish after fish that seemed to be solid hookups...some lasting many minutes. The fish would just vanish off the hook, not with any violent movement or air show...just disappear. On the last morning that all changed. I hooked a beauty that treated me to an all too familiar tour of the lower part of the hole we were fishing with many circles, long runs and finally to the shallows where I was able to make a tail grab. I called Patrick on the radio and announced that if this is a dream and I wake up in my tent I am really going to be bummed!

Again this trip we were treated to being part of the revolving cast of NCKA kayakers. I am a very fortunate  to be part of these adventures........

Big thanks and Congrats to Sensei Juan for sharing some of his fishing treasure. It sure was nice to get out with the usual suspects, serious fun as always!

I'm at work writing this ,exhausted, but happy! Sorry no pics right now, but I do take credit for snappin the one of Allen!

I was lucky enough to follow Patricks hookup and we had a double of red meat chrome! I thought it was a jack when it rolled early in the fight. But it kept going and really dogged me turning out to be a big chrome beauty about 20lbs. Everyone had some hookups on that push of fish but not many stuck.

The next day fishing was slow, the jetboats were abundant, but Jonesz and Allan hooked up(finally :smt003) We were treated to the cry of an eagle while watching the gill nets get pulled in.
