Jay-I will definitely be going again next year.  Should be about the same time frame.

Kiel-It all depends on how quickly you want to do it.  We two weeks on the way down, and 2.5 days on the way home.  You will need a passport and a Mexican tourist card as well as a Mexican fishing license.

No trouble.  In the end a trip to the Ranch isn't always about stacking up a big pile of fish (although it can happen), it is about a whole lifestyle experience.  Hard pulling fish, 80 degree water, beautiful rooms, and killer food.  Incredibly relaxing.  I am dying to go back.

Hydrospider has tried to get me on this trip a couple times.  I've been unable twice now, but with what I've seen and heard from T, I want in next year.  I'll make it work, driving, flying, swimming, walking, crawling, whatever.

The pics of the inshore species is what did it.  I'd love to experience the entire trip though.

If the norcal guys don't fill the roster, keep the Polarcat in mind.

Thanks for the report and additions everyone.

None this year at all.  The small jellies that are super painful are known as "agua malo" and come and go.  Some years and seasons are worse than others.  I generally don'tt have any issues on the yak but I have gotten stung while sitting side saddle...last year in particular.  Most folks get stung while snorkeling, and that can be greatly reduced by staying out after a big series of windy days,

We are driving down for 3-4 weeks in December and were wondering if this would be a good place for us to go in the last week of December?  We will surely be on the Bajia de Conception and Mulege for Christmas and will want to head closer to Cabo for New Years Eve before we make the trip back North.  I am thinking of securing a room for 3 nights right now but wanted your expert opinions on if it would be good for that time of year? I realize the fishing is generally better in June and July, but have to chase the benjies in season and have plenty of free time off season!

I have never been there in December, but I can tell you that it is an entirely different place.  Good fishing for yellows and sierra IF the wind isn't howling....as I understand it thats a big if.  The Ranch is a great place to chill though, and if it fits your plans you can't find a better place to relax.

Hey Adam,
For every time you get down on yourself about Baja...do yourself a favor and print out a few copies of these and post them near your computer and get your stoke back!
And don't forget this one either. She's an absolute beauty!! :smt007

I keep seeing the I want to go next year posts but remember Sean is scheduled to do another trip in October this year as well. Get a small group together and make it happen, at this time there is no one signed up. October is a great time to be there and when we have landed the largest numbers of bill fish and tuna.
