Good Times at the coast today with the fam.  It was cold and drizzley at home and not too nice up the river either, so we hit the beach and it was hot!  No wind, no swell, clear water.  I Roleezed a little boat down the beach with all my gear and paddled out to fish a spot I've never tried.  Got a black on the first drop and went on to catch 4 or 5 more in 30 minutes or so, keeping two 18 inchers.  BBQ'd hot dogs, garlic sausage and half a black rockfish for lunch and enjoyed some quality agate hunting on the way up the beach.  What a great day it was.   :smt001

I just love the loaded yak on wheels pics, with all that lonely beach in the background. SWEET!
Can't wait to get up there in a couple months & see it for myself.

Nice blacks too. I posted on the Bean Hollow thread how much i've come to appreciate the Black RF. Feisty rockies that are always game to bite & taste great. Plus, they are on the "green" list as a sustainable resouce due to their reproductive & growth rates.

It just doesn't get much better than that,

looks like your son made quite a haul there,,,,,

It does bring back memories for me, during an age when digital cameras weren't around, but I got alot of the same pics in boxes in the closet.

Besides being good for the family, I know now when I talk with my 25 and 30 year old kids that days like those are an investment in the earth's future, it's those kids that are gonna carry the burdens of our lifstyle choices more than we ever will,,,,maybe they'll do better.

Collin, my 6 year old Pro Beach Comber, picked a bunch of little limpets off the rock and showed me - "Hey, Dad, check out these creatures!  They're not just shells!"  I tried not to crush his sense of exploration and discovery, but I felt the need to tell him that those are living animals and we don't want to kill them unless we plan to eat them.  That's what I learned, and that's what many of us learn and abide by.  Unfortunately, the world is approaching a point where that type of learning can't just go un-noticed by Nature...  I'll continue to do my best in showing my kids The Way that I learned, and hopefully, at the same time, they'll learn that things have changed drastically since I or my father were kids, and they'll make the right adjustments and be part of the solution that's needed.   :smt001
