An Abking's report without the video?  :smt003  I think he's ready to joint the AOTY Junior league.  Thanks for the report and pictures.

I appreciate the kind comments from all, but I've got to single this guy out as the top of the heap.  Sonny, you've made me proud for quite some time with your need for pics, great compliments to all posters, and quick wit with an edge.  Keep it coming, Brother!   :smt008   :smt003

Sorry I did not make it clear.  I meant your son is ready to join the AOTY Junior League!

Cool report, Abking. That's an interesting beach with the gravel type substrate and all, what beach is that? My sister lives near Arcata, in Mckinlyville or something like that. I've never been to visit her yet, by any chance is that beach around that area? Or am I way off? My brother- in- laws dad (Portugese) eats limpets and says they're delicious, I tasted one once and it was salty and chewy as a salt water soaked tire (in my opinion). Do you eat them or have you ever tried them? I just ate it raw, maybe they're supposed to be prepred a certain way. Your boy looks hungry in the one pic, it looks like he's going to chew a finger with his snack :smt001 Keep up the good family fun, pops

I'm under the influence and teachings of bluekayak, so I must remain vague regarding the location.  It's along the Humboldt Coast, south of the Eel...   :smt002

It's not, but there are many excellent beaches in that area.  Many of them have some gravel component to them, and the search for the semi-precious (which means basically worthless but cool...) agate is quite popular.  Drinking a beer, listening to the ocean, and laying in warm gravel looking for a trippy little stone...  I love it, but I prefer time on the yak.   :smt004

Or am I way off?

When enquiring about the enjoyability and potential future visitation of a beach in Humboldt County one is never "way off".   :smt056  You should visit your sister and check out true NorCal.

I've never tried them, but I hear they make a tasty soup.  It makes sense that they'd be tough and taste somewhat like abalone.

You ask alot of questions for an 86 year old...  I think you're more like 28.   :smt001

:smt003 Your funny! Close, I actually turned 30 a couple months ago. When I was younger I used to go to Reggae on the River like every year so I'm familiar with the Eel River area somewhat. Seem to remember the locals not to happy about the festival and traffic. Pretty warm up there, thanks for the reply
