I've never used scent.  If I see people using it and catching more and bigger fish than me I'll probably start!  Truthfully, I've never known of scent being used for rockfish and lingcod jigging, but now I'm interested!   :smt001

As for tackle...  I've always liked a white 8" split tail (rubber) on a 6 ounce leadhead on a shrimpfly rig (any color) with one removed of course - both removed after getting my fill of little blacks and blues that attack the fly.  Run with just a big leadhead and you have a better chance of getting a lingcod, but you catch less smaller fish.  (not to say a ling wouldn't hit the fly sometimes...)

Maybe I'll try the Old Spice!
Sailfish, aren't we missing something from you today...?

BTW, is there a food thread or page on this thread?

I may be up for a little recon with the FF and GPS on Thursday to scout out some good spots.  Maybe I'll  bring the spear gun and freedive gear in case something looks interesting (and shallow).

The campground band is shaping up nicely,

Danglin and guitarzan: guitars
FishinMike: mandolin
Banjotad: banjo, bass guitar (if the campsite has electric?) amp turned way down of course.

Anyone else want to join the band?

Who can sing? (I can't and won't)

Song ideas guys?

I am a folk strummer. I may bring my mini Brooks, or else a Taylor.  If s/o is bringing an amp I would bring the black Martin, but acoustically it sucks.

Stones "Gimme Shelter" of course
maybe some Neil Young,Dylan
