Spent my birthday last year with the family camping and fishing at Limekiln, it was so much fun we decided to do it again this year.

Beautiful pics!  Sounds like a great family vacation!   :smt003

Surprised how calm it was on that day!
With the boulders & such a steep break, I think LK is a lot sketchier a landing than BH!    :smt009

Oh, btw :occasion13:

Nice to hear you on ch. 69 last Sunday. I was fishing with e2g out of mill creek. Looks like you had some significant ash on the water from the new fire. How deep of water did you fish? What was the best jig, bait? We had a super fast drift which kept switching around during the day. Did you have the same drift problems?. I am trying to get an understanding of how each of the launches/landings fish on various conditions. This way I hope to be better dialed in on where to start under each of these conditions.

One candle for every decade?  And here I thought you weren't a day over 39.  You definitely are living right.  And what a haul of fish!

excellent pics, thanks for the report.  Its weird you mentioned on the radio that you had ash on the water.  I had a little bit, like a flake here or there, and my truck had a few spots on it.  Amazing that in just a few miles of distance it goes from a drop to fouling the fish!

The morning (Sunday) had a surreal feel to it as we paddled out to the point. There was a ceiling of clouds at about 150' yet very clear horizontally, without a breath of wind it felt like we were in a silent zone skimming over glass between two worlds: it was eerie. And then it started to "snow" ash, we were just covered in it as you can see in the pictures above it pooled on the water in patterns.
I'm at work now and will post some additional details later today when I get a chance.

Great report and beautiful pics! Happy bday too.
But man, the pic of a huge dead turtle is kinda sad. And you saw 2 of them? Major bummer. I wonder what happened.

You definitely are living right.

Exactly my thoughts...  Beautiful camp, great kids, lots of fish, and the dog!  I wish my family was into kayaking, or fishing...  or camping at least!

You guys are living the dream!

Happy belated birthday, and thanks for sharing!
