Post up if you know where to get Minnows.
I called Petaluma Sport & Dive and let them know we are having a Tourney the Owner is away untill the 1st so they have about 5 doz right now and will be getting a delivery next Thursday. They open at 6am phone # is 707.763.0930. Directions below Washington St Off 101. They also said that the Stripers are on a tear in the Pet River.

Anyone have info about the Mendo bait?  Are they gonna have enough, or is it better to bring from somewhere else?

I'll Probably stop at Hi's on my way through SF, and then maybe stop at the place listed above.  There both on the way for me.  Maybe get half doz at each place?  Thanks for posting the info.

I don't know the name of the shop, but I'm pretty sure there is a bait shop selling live minnows in Lakeside. Maybe somebody could post the name/location of that place?

I've never been to Gotcha Bait or Oakley for that matter but I do know that Oakdale is on HW 108 which means Oakley is next to HW 4 and thus you'll find Gotcha Bait in Oakley.

I asked her how big the one's she had now are and I could feel her holing up her fingers and she said about this big :smt013

I'm in the South Bay and will be getting mine from Coyote Bait and Tackle.  They've ALWAYS done me right and so I'll gladly go 30 minutes out of my way for minnows and they're quality too.

Troy, do you drive up 101 right through the city?  That has to add quite a bit of time on to your trip, no?

One time when going to a wedding in Santa Rosa, I googled the directions and they had me going out and around the city.  I thought, this is hogwash, I'm going the most direct route which was right up 101 through the city.  It turned out I should have followed the directions as it easily added 30 minutes or more to the trip.

I suppose the time of day has a lot to do with it but I was just trying to look out for you.  There are at least 2 other places to get minnows on your way.  Not that I don't want you going to Hi's because I've heard lots of great things about it but it may slow you down considerably.

Thanks, I have been there before and they have done me right.  I bought minnows there last year and didn't keep them aerated. (newby with minnows)  Of course, they croaked.  I went back, and they hooked me up with about a dozen free ones.  I thought that was awesome.

What about trapping shad at the lake?  Is it something you cant really count on at Mendo?

I tried talking to the owner again yesterday...they don't get it.  The bait sucked as well.  Our bait was dead in a few hours.  If you can get it elsewhere, I would do so.

Never mind, saw the other thread relating to that...

Think I'll try getting a few minnows form CB&T and see if they last till Friday in my bucket with an aerator.
