I'm was wondering...  Why do these pumps seem to last such a short amount of time?  I think mine may have died because of the tubing is easy to kink, or fold in half.  After a day of trying to pump air into a crimped or folded over hose, the pump may have lost its seal or something?

I see that the Frabill model boasts a non-kink hose, maybe thats why they have it.  I guess I will get one of those this time!

Oh, and if it runs on DC, I can probably use my iSun portable solar panel to run it during the day too!

JP, when you heading to FW?  I may be on my way there in the next hour or so.

I am wondering if someone had a big fish tank or something to keep them alive all night?

A lot of people just keep their bait bucket in the lake over night. Just anchor it to something in 2-3' of water to keep it from floating away or into shore.

My misunderstanding, I thought he meant prior to arriving at the tournament.  Yes, ditto on what Sharkbait said.

If you wanted to get all kinds of crazy you could grab the Frabil Aqua Life Aerator for about $35. This one lets you choose between using D batteries, a 12 volt adapter, or 120 volt plug in. http://www.sportsauthority.com/sm-frabill-aqua-life-portable-aerator--pi-2038812.html

Yup, that is the aerator that I have.  LOVE IT! :smt007   Got it at Mel Cotton's.  It is on an endcap opposite their refrigerator that stocks fresh and frozen bait.

Well, I was just going to go get a couple and see if my bucket with aerator (like yours)

Al, I must clarify.  When kept at home, I keep them in a 5 gallon bucket, not just a regular minnow bucket.  Just wanted to make sure that was clear.

Just called Fishermans warehouse he said that there is Coyote bait and tackle and a "lee's near Capitol  n  McLaughlin... does any one know of that place.

Jeff:

That Tackle Shop is a pretty well stocked hole in the wall near Story and McLaughlin.  They have a variety of live baits in tanks in the back.  I don't know the name of the shop but i was just there two weeks ago.

Its in the same plaza as Lee's Sandwiches  :smt005 [990 Story Rd # 30, San Jose, CA - (408) 295-3402‎].  So you can just use Lee's Sandwiches as an address/marker and walk over to the tackle shop.  You'll never be able to find it just driving by on Story Rd, way too small.

No jumbos; check with them to see how much or little they have left.

Man... Went to FW and Sports Authority today, and couldn't find this one.  Picked up the regular Minnow-o-life, but really would like to get the better one you listed here.  Really like the diffuser it comes with too.  And all the options for keeping it running, brings out the tech geek in me!  At 15$ bucks more, seems well worth it.

Guess I'll make a 3RD trip to Mel's and see if I can find it there, then return this other one ;)

Met up with jprtroy at FW a while ago...  Boy, he went and got the BIG Daddy of aerators!  His minnows are going to be ready to ACTION when it comes game time!

I checked in at Ly's last weekend and he was out of jumbos but, he did have some extra large minnows. Some of which looked like jumbos. He didn't say when he was getting a new shipment in. I'm hoping he'll have one in this week though.

Allen-

How big were the jumbos at Petaluma Bait? They were really really small last weekend... I mean really small... like use for baby smallmouth small.

Al, if you are facing the refrigerator that separates the hunting from the fishing section, turn right 90 degrees and they should be hanging up.  If you turn left, you'll be facing their nets I believe.  It is a little section with a mish-mash of stuff.  It is all the stuff from the fishing department that they couldn't find a home for so they just stuck it there. :smt002

Which one did he end up going with?  Now you've peaked my curiosity.

I came home with the Attwood Baitwell II.  Its a "sprayer" style.  12vdc pump, 3/4" pipe with spray head and it shoots water back down into the well (My case bucket) I located old 12v plug, wired the pump up and it definitely aerates the water in the bucket.  Not too noisey either.
I bought a new bucket (OSH) and while testing the aerator, I was able to smell the "plastic" of the bucket so I have water in the bucket to hopefully soak out the stink so it doesn't mess up my bait.
This is what I have now.  Or what it looks like.

I just talked to the Petaluma Dive shop and he said they should have around 700 minnows in stock by Friday,

that includes both small and Jumbo...

I'm coming from Sacramento that Morning and will be passing Broadway Bait, only has small and not too many...

Just wondering how many people are planning to go to the Petaluma Dive shop for Minnows as to figure if I need to find somewhere else to buy them..

 Thanks
