Continued good WXs, continue to land on fridays. EricB and I have been getting lucky so far. 5-10kts. WINDs / 5ft@13sec. were all we needed to hear. Got to the beach around 7:ish to a thick&rich fog. Which means the winds will be low until it burns. We got out and hit the south area, sticking close to shore for the VISUALE COMFORT it brings when fishing in peasoup. Got a hail on the radio from ChampChuckE, that he was just breaking the mouth and looking for us. He soon found us with reports of a few RF that Eric had fooled. I really wanted to follow Chuck to the promissed lands of VermillionValley, so when he pulls his "DisapearingAct" I'll be following right behind him. We fish the south-mouth 20-40" area for nada. Then I see Houdini heading a lil deeper, I'm right behind! I paddle over a good area and send down the GitZit....a tippity-tap and up comes a beautiful piece of LingCandy!....like when openning that WillyWonkaBar I yell," I'VE GOT THE GOLDEN TICKET!"

pic1~Chuck'dini reappears in the shallows.

.....got it rigg'd for a tour, settling for no structure less than a vertical depth change of 20ft.
Hearing ChampC. mention that he's in one of his better spots, I look at my FF to see a nice drop. Down goes the candy......my rods LOADS-UP, as my heart enters my throat, I reel in without saying a peep. Chuck turns and sees the bendo and says "are you on?", I answer, "yeah, but I've learned to keep my mouth shut until I land it".
Right then it lets go and my heart breaks, but the Grennling is still hanging on, alittle fear-eyed, but in good spirits. I drop it down and scour the structure beneath, insearch of that same creature. After awhile and no luck,Chuch gives me a shout that he's got a nice babbie north in the shallows. I look and see him, then head in that dirction as I paddle&watch the T.V., looking for that special zone to parade around my offering. In a steady 30ft' range of sticky bottom, I found a "Special" 50ft. hole. This 31" ThighBanger is my PB so far!
We went awhile without action as the WXs built. Eric comes from the deeper waters to find a sweet suprise on our HailMaryDrift back to the barn.

.....I look at the depth and he's in 18ft! This thing is stripping line and heading out, I inform him of his depth and to paddle forward to keep it from turning down into a hole, resulting in a broken line for sure. He puts his rod in his lap and calmly strokes a few paddles(I thought the PARTY was SURLEY OVER) then picks up his rod and continues to get pulled around, til he pulled in this!

.....ChuckE was nearing, so we hunted the imeadiate area. FF's were showing friendly structure therebouts. I did manage a 18"cabbie from there.

One of the many bonuses of fishing with you, Adam, is the play-by-play recap with pics.

Thanks for the coaching, and for the pics.

The ling was delicious, and weighed in at 10lbs exactly.

Adam, great report and good work with that bait! I need to learn to fish the live bait for the lings.
I learned by watching the heavy-hitters do it....hook it onto a leadhead and send it to "selective structure".....some prefer to hook it in the back, but that will let it hide or get somewhere i won't be able to get it out of...so I lip hook it and up through the nostrils....let it do the work, you just have put it in the right area.
