Well in this case, one break at least....  Sadly it is my left humerus.

Remember the pic of the cool skateramp in my backyard?  Yup, I went flying off and right into a pier block I had neglected to put away..  When I stood up, my left arm was numb and flopping,  Yuck!

So, now I'm laid up, on drugs and my immediate fishing future has been radically altered.

I have to type with one hand, so this post is short, suffice to say the pain is significant, the drugs are strong, and my wife is the best in the world, taking good care.

I see the doc next Friday and learn "how long" before I can resume paddling......

For those few I spoke to during the week, thanks for the support.  I'll get through this, too.

but damn, 1 week before rcg season??

In good spirits despite it all,

Allen

Damn that sucks Allen all I can say is electric reel,Hobie and tandem.
Did you hear the one about the one armed guy who stretched out his arm and said it was this big :smt003

Ouch! having been broken far too many times I know what you are having to deal with besides just pain. Hang in there and work hard thru rehab. You may actually end up stronger with paddle in hand.
I also know the pleasures of charging down transition and cant imagine ever wanting to stop.
heal quick and clean Allen

allen, sorry to hear that.

that is your upper arm, eh? not good.

now, about fishing...

if you can fit in my hatch, I will take you out,  :smt002.

actually, I do plan on getting a skiff a few times from mid may to august 2 if you are up for going out with me and some members of my family, mainly the 8 year old and 10 year old.

you ought to be able to pilot a boat and set a hook at least!

Allen... tough break.  Nothing funny about breaking your humerous.  I'm sure you had some EPIC air before things went sideways on you.

Heal fast buddy... just think of this as a good way to spend more time with your family.
