It is always a pleasure to read Joel's posts at DV.  I want to wish Pat a Happy Birthday and glad to see you are showing your prowess at DV.  I have watched you fish at San Pablo Res. and I think you have "skills" when it comes to fresh water fishing.

OK,...just because a fish is not on a stringer....then the person did not keep the fish?
Because, I think that is was Mickfish is saying?  I think that was he whole point?

Great report of another top-notch NCKA hookup.  Multi-species trips are the best, IMO - more mystery in the sport of it, and variety makes the adventure better.  Gotta love the smooth water.

What a spring like day at the lake! Rather eventful too.
It is fun to watch a floatilla of kayaks leisurely making it's way down the lake on a quiet morning.
Trooch (Joel) really has those stripers located. He put those guys right on them. I couldn't get that far in my tube so was hanging around the lunch spot, with Hojoman. (Great company!)  :smt003 :smt005
It was great meeting/hanging with some of the NCKA guys again!
What a fun loving, joking, Fish-smack talking, generous bunch! (Generous 'cause they let Birthday boy have the most action!!) :smt006

It was real slow for trout and the big one caught me by surprise while I was krolling (trolling in a tube, Ken style), of all things, a white and gold rooster tail that's been sitting in my bag unused, for over 12 years.

I had a great time and can't wait for the water to clear up some so we can do it again with a wide open bite going. :smt044

Pat, Again a big ,"Happy Birthday" and always fun paddling with you. Man you we're on fire! The only two legal fish I came close too yesterday ran right at me after the set both unbuttoned and swam away laughing or were they singing "HB to Pat"
Fun day in the sun with the bro's.

Joel (Mooch),

You may want to read my post "Over Limits?" on the "General Talk".  Listen to what "agarcia".

I been duck hunting for 25 years and I thought there was something like that in the Fish & Game Reg.  And, I
maybe I was wrong....maybe there was a few years back....Just my 2 cents.  Because the Possion limit was a 2 day thing.  Most are now the same as a daily limit.

Ken,
Pat is a man of great compassion and integrity for our sport. I had to reread this several times before posting and I have to say that how you come to these conclusions is beyond me. I was there and yes these fish were released furthermore, your again using this site to stir up resentments that seem to be misplaced and air on the side of ridiculous. I have fished with you in the past and found your company to be entertaining and fun however; your pushing it here bro and their seems to be another adjenda to your post past and present.
I know if I have a personal problem with someone it is best to take it to that person on a one on one instead of the way you seem to keep coming at him on this oh so public board. It does you a disservice to post the way you are and slamming an outing that we all had fun at and throughly enjoyed eachothers company.
No one did anything illegal so stop the badgering. Frank

Wow, that looks like a GREAT day of fishing at DV!
Happy Bday Pat. Somebody must've informed the fish about your special day too.
Thanks for the great report+pics everybody.

First happy birthday and congratulations to Pat and others for a great NCKA event. Sorry I missed the event.

Second, I agree with Frank that the comments from Ken kickfish are inappropriate and not appreciated. 99.9% of NCKA members understand the rules and expectations for posting on this board. If you have issues and want to put others down on the web, go to My Space and have at it.

Awesome report, guys!  Thanks for for the pics and tips.  Also, happy birthday, Pat.  Looks like everyone had a good time and a successful day.  Hetch Hetchy seems nearly submerged.  Is that a normal depth for the water?  I would hate for the Man-Dawg Marina to wash away.

I'll be out there on the water Saturday scrounging for left-overs.

Great day out there and great company as well. My first thought when I showed up was to turn around and go home... that water is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuddy. There seems to be a lot of alge in the water too. Anyways, long story short... I missed one huge take down. I'm guessing a big trout on a short strike. My little soldier came back to get a purple heart... battered and bleeding. That was all the action for me before the bbq. After eating... I trolled a FT Rapala back to the launch and hooked a little planter, C&R'd. It was good to get the skunk off of the yak.

See you all Sunday,

Freddie

Here are some late(r) pictures. Had to go buy a USB card reader that recognizes the new high-speed memory cards.

It WAS a nice clear and sunny day. The (real) turkeys on the far shore were gobbling like crazy at sunrise. Pharmer, the first picnic bench is only 15 feet from the water's edge.

1. The water was flat-out calm with absolutely no wind.

2. Ken (Ken Fishnfool) showing off his first trout of the day.

3. Joel and Freddie firing up the grill for the incredible MAN-dawgs declicious and carne asada.

4. The carne chef at work.

5 & 6. The DAWGS themselves

7. Joel assembling a custom-sized carne. Just kidding...he was making sure everyone else got fed first.

There weren't many PBs on the water; saw one PB being towed back to the launch. Very few bank fishermen...you had to walk almost to Hetch Hetchy campsite before finding a suitable spot to bank fish.

1. Uminchu rearranging his rig. He was one fast-moving target. Hard to photograph.

2. Pat (Pat R) snuffing the candle on his birthday "cake."

3. Pat with his striper limit.

4. Pat with his striper limit and birthday cake.

5. Ken with his lunker trout of the day, just before most of us called it quits for the day.

6. Joel kicking back at the end of the day.

7 & 8. Frank (Frankfishing, not Frankswimming) gliding into the launch right behind Joel.

Didn't get a pix of Doug (Yellowboat). Sorry Doug...next time.
