Cast of Characters: Pat,Frank,Naoaki,Doug,Joel,Fred,Howard and Ken.

Weather: absolutely gorgeous :smt007
wind: NONE ALL DAY

Frank and I led Fred and Pat to Valentine Cove. We dropped minnows as soon as we were in the zone and within minutes, the "Birthday Dude"  :occasion18: hooks the first fish of the day...and proceeds to "school" the rest of us...I'll let the b-day dude with the hot stick tell the story....

Here are some pics...

Thanks to Fred for the home made carne asada - good stuff right there  :smt023 At noon, we gathered at the Hetch Hetchy camp site and  had a feast of man dogs, carne asada, sushi, chips and soda and a little birthday cake for the Man of the Day :cowboy_smoke:

Don't see it on a stringer and it looks like he is handling it pretty gently for the release.

Joel (Mooch),

You may want to read my post "Over Limits?" on the "General Talk".  Listen to what "agarcia".

I been duck hunting for 25 years and I thought there was something like that in the Fish & Game Reg.  And, I
maybe I was wrong....maybe there was a few years back....Just my 2 cents.  Because the Possion limit was a 2 day thing.  Most are now the same as a daily limit.

Well first of all I would like to thank every one for a great day, and would like to thank Joel and Frank for giving up the location of Valentine Cove the twelve-mile paddle was well worth it. It was definitely a good day for me I had 8 hook-ups 4 dinks 2 keepers and 2 line peelers witch got away, the 2 keepers where 18.5” and 19” not big but a lot of fun. I got most of my hook-up on the troll with the jumbo minnows the stripers seemed to be hanging in the 30’ rang and not on the bottom. The shore lunch was awesome as usual and the weather was flat calm, I could not have asked for a better birthday thanks again to all.

Mickfish,

How many fish do you see on a stringer for a photo?  Not many...right?...it has dragging in the water for a while or it is a stringer of fish.

Happy Bday Pat!!  Glad DV gave up some goodies for you and the gang, even though the water still looks fairly stained.  You guys had the place all to yourselves from the looks ofit.

OK,...just because a fish is not on a stringer....then the person did not keep the fish?
Because, I think that is was Mickfish is saying?  I think that was he whole point?

I'm a bit confused as to what your point is. Are you saying that because somebody catches more than the limit and takes pictures of all the fish they caught on a particular day that they kept them all? Are you insinuating that somebody in this thread is a poacher? Cause that's the way it's coming off.

I also apologize for the thread jack. I just want to understand what kickfish is saying. If I'm not understanding you correctly Ken then I apologize in advance.

Wow, nice way to spend a birthday. Congrats! :occasion1:
I'm gonna have to start getting out there & joining you guys - this work thing is really over-rated...

Ken, nice trout catch from the tube, too.
By the way, I didn't quite catch the gist of the stringer thing, either. It's probably just a missed-message kind of thing that easily happens with this mode of communication (like email).

Anyway, looks like a great day at Del Valle.
