That's my backyard!  Opening day is always interesting because they release the HUGE planters that make the headlines on the opening days.  If you are in the 2008 AOTY, you should have this weekend marked.  Good luck to all.

Working on getting the day off should be a go, are you guys planning on launching at the boat launch or at the Rec. area (main entrance).

I can do either, it's just that the REC AREA is in the center of the lake(quicker access to main lake) but you will need wheels to get down to the shore from the lot.

at the launch....the water level will be so low you will have to paddle almost to the Rec AREA to get into deep enough water to find the TROUT.

less shore activity and a table to our own at the launch end
more shore fishers and more tables to get a chance at.

I was thinking of launching from the rec area to avoid the boat launch traffic and have a shore lunch in scow canyon. We can soak powerbait while we dine on man dogs and beer and watch the parade of power boats.   :smt005

I have had the same problem with the bank anglers.  I once had a guy on a wheelchair blocking the ramp and I ended up draging the kayak to the water.  The ramp is easier.

Just realized I have the week following 2/15 off of work, anybody want to hook up and introduce me to the lake during the middle of the week when the crowds should be minimal? :smt006

If San Pablos opener is anything close to what Loch lomond's opener is, in zooyness, yous guys are brave!  I forgo the "opener" now, especially if on a weekend, and go the following Monday and usually I'm the only one at the lake!  No boats, no bankies, just me & the ospreys!  And sometimes I think the fish are stuck at home also!

My work schedule is beginning to align so that I can get the day off that Friday. I'll be there for the combat, and maybe even a fish or two!  :smt071
