District 9, watched it 3 times in the last 2 days.

While being a South African, and having come of age during the violent late 80's as a conscript with the old South African Defense Force really added to this thinly veiled metaphor for the Apartheid era, I believe it should have universal appeal.

Some who saw it didnt like the violence, but for those who saw this dark period of history first hand, it can only seem natural in a setting like Soweto.

Am I the only surfer on this site?  No surf films listed at all.  What about the classic, Endless Summer?

So here's a question:  Was Avatar equal to or better than the first Star Wars movie?  I came out of Avatar stunned the way I was when the first Star Wars Movie came out.

Regarding surfer movies / documentaries = some one posted "Riding Giants"....oh and "Point Break"  :smt002

Dave, being a Star Wars fan, I think Avatar is WAY BETTER  :smt045 Everything from the story line to the special effects!!! I'd like to see the movie on the IMAX version.....anyone want to take me out on a date?  :smt008

We just got back from Avatar and I feel like I just got punched in the gut. Great movie and a heartbreaker to see at the same time.

May I add (The DI) by the lead actor from dragnet.  Classic boot camp movie.  It brings back bad memories from my boot camp days.

It's true... Point Break is such an awesome move  :smt066  Except Keanu Reevs of course.... :smt012  It's amazing how much action they packed into that film!!  Its got everything a guy could ask for ;)  I heard they did a play of it too...  But instead of having someone play the part of Keanu, they just pull someone from the audience and have them read the lines  :smt005

where the red fern grows is a real tear maker, even as a kid.

walkabout ~ i saw as a child and it was strange, but i enjoyed it and learned from it.

i don't see new movies that much, so all mine are old ones, sorry.
