C'mon, it's classic 80's!

speaking of which, how about Repo Man?
The life of a repo man is always intense.

Duke, let's go do some crimes.
Yeah. Let's go get sushi and not pay.
:smt005

and has anyone mentioned Blade Runner?

Oh, one of my all time favorites is The Abyss.

check out The Hunt For Red Treasure all about Ab Diving
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Whalerider is one of my all-time favs. The way it poses leadership progression in a traditional society, kills me.
I'm so stoked you liked it Mooch! In a very similar vein "The secret of Roan Innish" is a great film, directed by John Sayles.

I'll add some new movies that I liked, not all will agree but they are only suggestions after all...

"No Country for old men"- I confess, while I like this movie for the quiet desperation of its main character, I like it more for the memory association (I watched it after having been chased from the Bean my first trip this year by unanimously unmanageable surf)

"Rockers" for anyone who liked "Countryman" or "The Harder They Come". (It inspired me to paint)

"Black Water" for lovers of cheap, deadly serious, slightly freaky, mentally-stick-with-you horror films (its like "Lake Placid" but eerily real& NOT funny) The FX are are subtle yet amazing. Based on 2 true stories of saltwater croc attacks in Oz-land. Don't let the DVD cover fool you, I thought it was truly spooky.

"Frankenfish" ....Like "Tremors" only with genetically engineered Chinese snakehead fish  :smt044
Good for a mindless, humor infused gorefest with evil attack fish.
