I am thinking about heading over there for some of those ninja boots (Teva P-2).  Are they still available over there, Mooch?  It is a little out of the way for me, but maybe I can swing over there after work Sat.

Sumo, I'm sure they still have 'em - call them first to make sure they have your size.

Do they keep sand/rocks out well?  That is my biggest complaint about footwear.  I like my Keen's except when I have to launch in mud or sand.  (which is almost always)  I end up with all kinds of junk inside which is very uncomfortable and hard to remove once out on the water.

Yes they do - that's why I got 'em  :smt002 And the drain system on the heel - which is meshed to keep the water, sand and pebbles out are KEY for total comfort  :smt045

Vince is a dog person - he's got two german short hairs that look exactly like Chuck's pooch. And just as obedient  :smt079

Just made a correction on the time frame....originally, I stated that it was 6AM to 8PM...I just corrected it to 6PM to 8PM. So, basically, it's only a 2 hour sale.

I'd suggest getting there earlier though.  You can always browse so when they "officially" open the sales gate, you don't get snaked!!  Hate it when that happens.  Learned that trick from the SO, mom, and sis!!  :smt003

hey mooch, what kind of yakfishing kayaks do you guys sell in the 14-16ft range? my neighbor is looking to get one this weekend. he's grown quite fond of my wifes tarpon 140 but its time for him to step up to the plate? also, where is your store located? we were going to go to the outback thing but i like the idea of buying from the master of the madness.

Aquan  only carries the Ocean Kayak brand (for now at least). They carry the complete line - but for a 14 to 16 foot range, and depending your neighbors height and weight, The two top sellers would be the Prowler 13 and the 15. Aquan also has a boat house in San Mateo (about 15 minutes away) where folks can test paddle before making the final decision - to buy or not to buy.

They also sell demos - if you call 'em, they will have list of those particular models.

Aquan is located in:

840 Brittan Ave
San Carlos Ca 94070
Across from REI

(650)593-6060

I plan to be there during the sale to meet and greet people  and answer any questions related to kayak fishing.

Again, I appreciate all those who make an effort to support Aquan Sports. They have really stepped up and have been donating prizes to all our NCKA derbies.

On a side note: I will be leaving my full time job at Konica Minolta soon and will be working full time for Aquan.

My future projects with Aquan Sports will include monthly seminars / demos. I'm already working with Eric Kunz (the NCKA Sturgeon Slayer) to get a seminar going on pursuing the Bay Area Sturgeon from a kayak. To be announced soon!

other demos and classes will include:

*Launching and Landing on surf (will be done by experts from the Aquan Staff)
*Modifying fishing kayaks (pimp'n) - the simple, less costly and effective way
* Kayak fishing & Camping /  boat-in camping
* self rescue - and many other safety issues will be discussed (again, by the Aquan Pro-Staff)
* Organize monthly camping and fishing trips.....

And that's just the tip of the iceberg  :smt002 I'm looking forward to my new venture - hope you guys can stop by and say "hello"...and spend some money so I can get a raise from da boss  :smt002
