Throw this down in your giant net and measure a big spawner lingcod to be released, and you will attain another level.   :smt004

Exactly what I've been considering.

That said, I think we'll be kayak fishing on Saturday.  I may just add perch on the scorable catch list - shore or kayak...  We'll see.

I was texting with Captain Jake Mitchell (Sea Hawk Charter), and he let me know that a plethora of anchovies showed up in the harbor this morning.

I also had a Facebook memory come up a few days ago with a Californian that a friend caught down there at this time of year...  Could get interesting!   :smt001

Just as I finished crimping the barbs from my shore stuff I haven’t used in years.

Barblessness is a level of challenge that all anglers should consider.   :smt001

Swell forecast went down over the past two days - it's all wind wave, basically.

North and northwest influences largely blocked at the Cove - no guarantees, but we're looking good for fishing out front on tourney day and especially pre-fish Friday.

Gyotaku, Taco Shack, Raffle and all around vibe looking strong!

See you soon~

BTW, my kids just reminded me that there are some great minus tides this weekend.  They're very early, but especially Sunday is very accessible.  A minus 2 foot doesn't come along often.

We'll be tidepooling, poke-poling and all around loving it.   :smt001

There should be a lot of abalone exposed, as they've been crawling out of the urchin zone and seen in abnormally high numbers in the higher tidal zone.

Feeding an ab is a thing.   :smt001

Thanks for the heads up, love exploring tide pools. All packed and getting ready to head out......now I just got to find a spot for the poke pole.
