Mooch,

How will we get the parking passes for this weekend?

I have some firewood I could bring, but don't know how to take it to camp. I can bring a ruber maid tub full of mostly old fence wood and a bit of pine.

Compa, Mooch said only store-bought, commercially wrapped firewood is allowed. If not for that requirement, I would have had lots of wood to bring.

OK, I volunteered to organize the shore lunch for Saturday. Looks like only 20% chance of rain. Are we going to have a grill? Let me know what you are going to bring. We will probably eat at 1230 with fishing clinics from 1-2. Then back in the yaks for the evening bite and test out the new skills.

Thanks! Scott :smt006

Thanks, Scott. I'm bringing two pans of brownies.

The group camp site can fit 50 people - there's PLENTY of room. We have around 20 right now. (the site can hold more than 50 really).

Firewood: please bring as much as you can - if you need help hauling it to the camp site - NCKA will be on VHF channel 69.

Del Valles Fire wood policy: As a result of the appearance of the sudden Oak Death fungus in the East Bay, and to limit its spread, campers may no longer bring unprocesses natural firewood into the park. Campers may bring wood which has been commercially purchased and certified to be uncontaminated, cut up or processed fire logs.

Parking:

Unfortunately, they only mailed me 5 free parking passes - one for me and the others I will give to the first 4 cars to show up at the park entrance at 7AM - Friday Morning. Please sound off if you plan to be one of those 4 cars - so I give you the pass. (I'll be waiting at the entrance).

For those who will not get the free parking pass - you need to pay $6.00 per night at the park entrance.

In case it rains, I had asked Ben / Guitarzan to bring his tent shelter. I will try to borrow one as well so we can cook and stay dry just in case it rains.

The bill: Since we are getting a few more people joining in, I was just wondering if everyone can just agree on splitting the entire bill (even if your staying one or two nights) so it will be easier for me to divide and collect the money. Please let me now if this is works out - we can discuss this on Saturday  - when the majority is present at the site. No need to make this thread any longer that it already is.

total rental fee + reservation service charge is $208.00 - divide that with total campers for both nights  = kicks back to me. Again, well discuss this on Saturday.

Glad you cleared that up. I did not see that on the Del Valle information site.

Scott, yes I'm bringing one small gas webber grill, with 3gal propane bottle and hoses (lantern on top of pole) and one hose for either another gas grill or stove. Plus a small aluminum roll up table.  I do have some paper plates, but not enough for weekend.
Looking at the pile of gear I have, my advanced elements inflatable I'll be using for my tow barge might not have enough room!

As much as I would like free parking, I probably won't be able to show up until around 11 am. Gotta swing by the bank to keep the mortgage hounds away from my front door for another month.

I'll have smoked or BBQ chicken legs for Friday evening and BBQ pork for Saturday evening.

No prob with me about however you want to divvy up the camping fee.

I can't be there that early either. So I just pay at the gate. Ken will be there by 6:30 AAM but he has a yearly permit.

About the fees, the guys that are going one night should be the ones responding. Ken and I will be there for 2 nights so we will go along with whatever you decide.

Ken will explore the South end on his yak till it's time to check in. I may be joining him when I get there aroung 9:30 AM. We don't have FM radios but will carry walkie-talkies. Channel 13-15.
