From the LE perspective...Repeat after me... sorry sir, it’s my kayak but my buddies motor.  He is just letting me try it to see if I want one. I will gladly paddle back if you would like me to.

But they HOV lane, I’m gonna getcha for that one.

For sure, attitude is 90% of what gets ya the right result.  But, based on the OP's tone... I expected more of the "I pay your salary" nonsense that usually gets in the way of courtesy.

I worked as the nightime staff member at UCSC College.  Icluded write-ups for policy violations (Alcohol Drugs behavior).  I got that "I pay your salary" bit fairly often. My immtable response was always "OK, then I demand a raise cause you're not paying me enough to deal with assholes like YOU!

Thinking of getting a trolling motor and not doing the CA Registration. Does anyone know how much the violation or fine would be?

What happens with the catch me if you can attitude?  I'm the type of person who drives in the commuter lane waiting for my ticket.

What do you guys think?

I think you should get the fuck out of the HOV lane.

Hey Bushy! I was a UC PD dispatcher for 40 years. I totally hear you! The stories of entitled brats, helicopter moms, the “you guys aren’t real cops” ( yeah, state police with jurisdiction anywhere in the state), etc. One thing I learned was to never underestimate a person’s ability to say/do really stupid things. And these are the cream of the crop, intelligence-wise (now there’s an oxyMORON for ya!)…

If you also pee on the toilet seat in public restrooms, please stop.
