so how deep is it out there?  & how much rope do I need?

15 feet deep max.   50 feet of rope should be fine.

Backslider... about shrimp.  I generally go with straight ghost shrimp these days... or go half and half.  I rarely fish straight grass shrimp at all.

I have it in my head that I catch more stripers with ghost instead of grass and that I catch more undersize sturgeon on grass versus ghost.  That has tended to be my experience, but not sure how valid any of it really is.

That's about what everyone else says, too.  The problem with me is, I've never caught anything on ghosties, so I don' even use them anymore.  All my sturgeon have come on grass shrimp and nothing else.  In fact, I'd always used a single hook, but switched over to the two-hook rig last season; didn't catch a thing.  As soon as I took the second hook off, I hooked up... you helped me with the assist in Montezuma Slough last March... single hook, grass shrimp.  I don't get it... seems like all my "tactics" are backwards, but they work for me.

Anyway, I'm hoping tomorrow's going to epic in the grandest sense of the word.  See you out there.
