Thank you Eric for another outstanding event.   A special thanks to Brandi, Claire, Claira and all the others who did help out and contributed to the fish printing.  The Taco shack offered up some delicious fish tacos and thanks to all of you who were involved in making and serving them.

The fishing conditions were great if you were a goose and wanted to fly south.  My brother and I launched early and as I rounded the corner and was heading towards pilot rock my electronics died. We continue heading out towards the lighthouse and as soon as we get ready to start fishing my seat breaks.  Now I feel like I’m fishing in a lazyboy recliner.  Spent most of the rest of my time on the water trying to McGuiver my seat.  The  little time I did fish I was able to catch some rockfish and a ling cod.

GSXX was a success because of the hard work put in by Eric and the rest of the volunteers. The conditions were sporty which just makes you work harder and appreciate the sport more. Special thanks to Claire and Clara for putting up with my brother which is no easy feat. Already looking forward to next year!

Only my third time to Shelter Cove and it was the second time in gale force winds there. Friday wore the wetsuit and got a couple lings a big blue and rather wet, Saterday was a little beat up and enjoyed the comfort of the dry suit but was unable to land any keeper fish and returned to shore early. Got to meet and hang out with some new OG kayak dudes I hadn't met before and talk fishing!

Those were some windy and swelly conditions, I'm impressed that everyone stayed in their safety zone and nobody got dunked.  :smt001

Didn't take many pictures but got one image of the (not windy) really nice lunch stop on the way up and one of the windy Black Sands Beach as I headed out of town.

Thanks for putting on the event again this year Eric!
