Just talked to my friend in Shelter Cove, he got a double blow-out recently due to lots of pot holes on the road to Shelter Cove.  Please drive carefully this weekend.  See ya soon!

I also corresponded recently with Lyle of Cape Mendocino Tea House (thanks for introducing us, Sonny).  He says "they limited out quickly on opening day in deep water - maybe 200'..."  He didn't have any other salmon info.  I like Hawk's report of 40' better!   :smt003  Etienne (spelled it right this time  :smt001), NO ONE reports out of the Cove, so the two bits of info we have are more than I've had to go on at almost any point in the past few years that I've paid attention.

I had advised PK to bring the rockfishing gear in case the ocean wasn't good enough or the salmon aren't biting, but we should have it anyway for late afternoon minus tide rockfishing out at the point - I know some great channels where we should be able to score a cab or two and some greenlings.  I'll also have my dive gear to do some spearfishing if there's any vis.

I think I'm coming down Saturday morning

I guess it can not hurt to throw one more rod and a pokepole in the van for post yak fishing fishing.  This is going to be great fun.

Not too much motivation needed around here.  I am just about to sneek out of work 20 mins early since I just can not wait any longer.  Let the fun begin or at least let the work stop for three days.  I am on my way see you there.  :smt006
