I had fun but only managed to catch 15 lings and nothing bigger than 33inches. I'll tell you one thing the winning stringer and biggest rockfish were all caught of Sea Ranch. Seems kinda difficult to accept this since it is so restrictive to fish here without staying in a house. My feeling is all must launch and fish in the general area otherwise it is not a fair playing field. Sea Ranch is 30 miles north from the tourney and quite difficult to get access to. Oh well I had fun with all that stayed at the campground. I caught a huge red at 21 on Friday that would have been in the running for biggest rockfish. Hopefully next year they remove the ability to fish out of Sea Ranch or move it up there.

Get a few pictures later after I download them

ps the biggest ling was caught at TImber cove but all other SR

Thanks for coming everybody, Michelle and I hope EVERYONE had a good time.

I'll get the tournament report published here in a few hours.  We broke camp at OC late Saturday night and headed down to HMB yesterday.

Dr. Hab,
The winning (big) fish came from Timber Cove, not Sea Ranch.  The winner showed us his lure, disclosed his location and gave more accountability.  I'm happy to discuss rule changes in regards to tournament boundaries or anything else.  I don't care what gets posted but you'll get a faster response by contacting me directly.

The Fall Classic will be held every year on Columbus Day Weekend (thanks Kirk!).

Sounds like it turned out to be a great event!!  How many people fished it?  I still need to get boots to wear over my paddling pants, but and assortment of lures, and possibly upgrade my rod before I hit the salt.

Seems like lure selection could be pretty basic with swimbaits, shrimp flies, and metal jigs covering just about everything.  My current rod and reel set up is a Shimano Curado 300D on an Shimano Terramar rod.  The rod is only rated to 1.5oz lures and I think I need something a little heavier?  Maybe Ill pick up an Ugly Stick jigging rod to put the Calcutta on.  I'm dying to get out there and hate that I missed the event!

Ill be there next year though!  Can't wait to see some pics!!

Man, what a great time! The Sonoma Coast at its finest, great friends, and incredible food. I can't wait for next year.

Here's some shots of the Paella feast.

Greetings All,
Sorry for the late follow-up on the shirts and hoodies.  We finally have our shirt delivery coming Friday.  Unfortunately, the tournament registration software dumped all the address (billing) information the day of the event.  I have all your names and shirt orders, just no addresses to send them to.

If you registered for the event, please send your mailing address to Spike@kayakfishing.com with the subject SHIRT and I'll get those out asap.  You can also phone that info to 818-970-2392.
