I wash my wetsuit and dry top on gentle cycle warm water with detergent and air dry after every use. After 3 years and over 100 washes, the tape peeled off but it is a cheap farmer john and it works fine for short swims without tape. Personally, the fish smell doesnt bother me but squid goo smells pretty bad after a couple of days IMO. If I had an expensive wetsuit, I probably wouldnt throw it in the wash. Then again, If I had an expensive full 4/3, I wouldnt use it for kayak fishing like some people I fish with.  :smt005

I can't believe this thread about stinky wetsuits is 4 pages long! :smt044

Rinsing gear is one of my most enjoyed post fishing rituals (in the summer-when there is no shortage of time).
Ah, nothing like a cold beer & a washtub full of neoprene!

One note: for those with mysterioso layers, I've been told that washing the mysterioso fabric in a standard machine with soap will kill the anti-bacterial properties of the fabric, and it will get gnarly stinky on the next use, never to be the same again. I've had my mysterioso stuff for years and always just rinsed it. No funk to speak of so far, and my shirt is nearly worn out.

Go back to the location of the start of stink, and jump in. Another words rinse repeat rinse repeat. With logic like that I always have an excuse to get in the water. "but honey my wetsuit smells and we are out of dinner" :nike:
