Met up with da'RockHopper and Bob on River Road off 101 and off to Ross we go.We arrive to fog and oily-glass conditions.Drive down to the unlaoding area and then it's
"in search of a Cabbie" for me and I'm gonna stick to plan the whole day!

We get out of the mouth and see fishy marks on the bottom, so DOWN GO THE OFFERINGS of Rt.BeerScampies, Irons and BillsCustomCabbieBuster.
Instantly FISH ON for all......
Me? I can't keep the gophers&chinas off my damn CabbieBustin-jig!

We were getting into fish of the better kind where we were at, so we had to go elsewhere, you know how we do it. Let's go to that spot out by that rock! Let's GO!

Sill the gophers&chinas followed me way the hell out there too?!

pic~1- Dustin and Bob at unlaoding area.

pic~2- da'Rock waitin to get a HUNTIN.

pic~3- Bob after the "TUFF" take-off.

pic~4- Bob and the first Vermillion.

pic~5&6- Dustin with Vermey inhand.

pic~7- on our way to the end of the kelpbeds, way out there, by that rock.

pic~8- getting closer.....

pic~9-  we're there, but the Cabbies/better fish were not. Can't beat the SWEET CONDITIONS though!

Wheres the fish?
Mark~ it was tough at times, but it settled down after a while.

........we weren't seeing/finding them there, so we headed to to furthest point north and continued the huntdown!
While stickin to the plan, I reluctantly remove my *newly acclaimed "gopher bait" (sorry Bill, I will get one with it at da'bean!) and attached the GIANT GIT-ZIT and tipped it with octopus. I then begin to hit the open patches between the kelpbeds and see a mark on the TV?...I then tell Bob," I think i see my Cabbie", and drop it down to the 40ft. bottom.....tap,tap goes the travala, Fish-on! It was not an AOTY upgrade, so I tried for the first time to get a few underSALTpics.

pic~1- on the hunt for something BIG!

pics of my only vermillion of the day........check the puss tentacles with the gitzit tassels in the last pic!

Thanks for the pics, Adam.

I ended the day with three chunky verms like the one pictured, two small blues, a small copper, and three small chinas. All fish released....by all of us.

We fished from 8:00am 'til about 2:00PM or so with bites fairly consistent throughout the day.

Conditions were fabulous!

Thnx Scott!  those are in the works! as soon as i can get another one, if it's not bigger than my biggest(29") then i don't have to worry about it gettin off during it's photo op.

.......and the finish-up pics.

pic~1- from the water lookin to the cliff (north area)

pic~2- lookin down to the launch, which you have to walk up to get your car from the lot.

pic~3- my point of view for a hour during the ride home.

EXCELLENT DAY OUT on the WATER......it was the pictures and REPORTS of these kind from the OCEAN, that got me to think, Hey!, I should be able to do that too!
Thanks for showing me the way Dustin!...and Bob, thanks for the sammy/beer and showin me the otherway! (to get a ride up the hill from someone, everytime!)

SWEET u/w pics Adam! I may need to turn one of those into an art pice, if you'll grant permission. Would I have to sign a waiver? :smt005
I Love the colors in those pics, so bright red & aqua blue.

Malibu Two, yes that is the same place. See in the first series of pics that you can drive down to unload, but have to park above in the day use lot. The far north area of the beach is protected by thick kelp and was an EASY-AS-IT-GETS launch and landing.(this time)
REPORT WAS: 6ft swells and 5-15 mph winds.

Mooch~ the Gitzit was IT!   on the first drop!  Lessons?...just stick the thing under the water and start CLICKIN...look at them later when you are on land or relaxing. were you DRY DOCKED this weekend?
