Anyone know where to buy bungee cord? I am talking about what Hobie uses.
NRS bungee is no good and a few places I bought even amazon is not good compare to what Hobie uses.
Yes, I checked with CCK, they don't have Hobie bungee.

I've had good luck with West Marine bungee cord. It seems to hold up as well as anything from Hobie. It's expensive, though, so I just bought a big roll of this stuff, but have not yet had a chance to try it.

Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Tie a knot or two in the cord to tighten up. Gets one thru a season and more.

Give us an update if that amazon one is legit.
The closest one I have used was from OSH, the elasticity is 90% and UV is 80% comparing to Hobie.
The other places I bought goes bad within 1-2 years. Hobie is lasting a good 5 years.

I do exactly the same thing for any bungee cords that I need.  I have so much materials left, at the sight of any degradation, I simply just replace it.

Most of it is easy to replace but some of it (bungees that hold amas to the akas, for example) is a PITA. So I can understand the desire to get the best stuff for things like that.

I come to a conclusion that Hobie have it made just for itself.
The elasticity and UV rating is the best IMO.

Do yourself a favor and call FastLane Sailing & kayak in San Diego.  They are a longtime Hobie dealer. Best kayak store I’ve been in. If they don’t have it they can order it from hobie and ship it to you. And when you call them they’ll know what you’re talking about.  https://www.fastlanesailing.com.

I've been using the West Marine stuff too. The key is to get the solid core stuff, not the stranded. They have both.   That being said, I ditched the aft Bungie completely, never really served a useful function.
